Hey,
I'm applying to a number of colleges, but I'm afraid I may be missing out on a good school for me that I may have just overlooked. We will be moving to Colorado soon, and I'll be going to college soon after that. Here are my basic stats:

I have about 60 college credits from dual enrollment classes along with my A.A. in Pre-Law (I'll be finished in December):
Philosophy of Religion
Pre-Cal
College Algebra
Intro to Criminal Justice
Elements of nutrition
Geology
Torts 1
Constitutional Law
English Comp 1
English Comp 2
Contemporary Literature
Public Speaking
Computer Concepts
The Legal Profession
American History 1
American History 2
European History 1
Logic

My College GPA: 3.9

EC's:
President of SGA (2 years)
Treasurer of SGA
Vice President of SGA
Varsity Basketball (3 years)
V. Bball team captain
Varsity Soccer team captain
Varsity Cross Country (2 years)
Member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society
Teen Trend Setters (program that helps tutor third graders in reading)
And plenty of service hours....

So anyway, I'm applying to CU-Boulder, Colorado State, U of Minnesota (accepted), Florida State, Covenant College (accepted), and U of Florida. I want to major in political science, and then go on to law school after that. Where do you think might be some other good places for me to apply? Do you think I'm aiming to high/low with my current list? I'm open to just about any suggestions, so let's hear them!

Given your stats, you have a solid chance at UMich, and you could look at other schools that are more “prestigious” than those on your list. Take a look at Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin-Madison. You will probably be accepted at CU-boulder though, and if you want to go to law school and it will be in-state tuition, boulder is definitely a good school.

If you like/love CU-Boulder, I’d say your list is about done. It’s a great school, low cost, and it’ll prepare you for law school in another four years.

Thanks for the input! I haven’t visited CU yet, but I drove through Boulder a few years ago, and I LOVE that area. So CU is probably my #1 choice on my current list. The only problem is that it isn’t cheap, at least not for my first year. I won’t get instate tuition because I will only have been there for about 5 months before I would start there… so I would have to cough up over 30K for the first year. But hey, I’ll be paying a lot almost no matter where I go, so I guess I’ll just have to hope for some scholarship money.
