Lol, @AIA, the juniors in IB HL English read those exact same books first semester.

You know you’re obsessed with college admissions when you’ve started reading the word “act” as A-C-T.

Apandia, lucky! I really want to read The Great Gatsby!!! All the Honors English 11 classes are reading it but I took AP Lang like the good Indian overachiever I am. :

Well, this is a nice summary of my life. Hahahahah

Welcome, candyxpandaaa. State the language you speak at home and where your family is from.

I keep forgetting to ask this, but what do you guys think about the Devyani Khobragade case?

Agreed. Did you hear that in response to the US kicking Khobragade from the country, India kicked out a US diplomat. Sigh.

Meeeee! :)

Hi, Funshine! :D

Hiiiii
nice to meet cha!

@AIA, This thread keeps dying haha, thanks for keeping it alive.
In response to your discerning question, yes, I have. She definitely should not have been strip-searched and detained next to her son/daughter-'s school. As I have just learned thanks to you, India went overboard by kicking out a US Diplomat. Doing such an act simply absurd.

Funshine, what part of India is your family from?

apandia, ahahahahaha no problem. Actually this time it was Funshine who brought it back. I’m not sure what I think of the strip-search (I’d have to look into it to form an opinion) and I guess the detaining near her kid’s school was a little much, but she’s a terrible person and I think she deserved the punishment she got. I just feel bad for her husband and kids. And India was trying to be a big shot by kicking out the US diplomat. India needs to grow up, tbh.

Both of my parents are from Jamshedpur(: and yours?

I’m from Chennai. A wonderous city.

Coolio! How often do you visit?

Like, every 2 years. Last time I went was summer before sophomore year, so I’m supposed to go summer before senior year, except I can’t because I’ll (hopefully) be doing some summer programs and stuff. So I’ll probably visit before I go off to college.

Wbu?

Yo I’m Indian! I got dat curry swag walk down. I go every two years, yeah.

Hey there, sirswish! Where’s your family from?

I know exactly how you guys feel. I am a freshman and my parents are making me take as many math, science, computer and business classes as possible. They want me to be a doctor, engineer or business man. They are even making me waste my summer to take extra courses at our local community college

Tigerman, join the club. My parents told me I could be whatever I wanted as long as I was really good at that thing. I decided on engineering because of the job security and high salaries but also I’d really like to program stuff. I think they were relieved when I told them, ha ha.

I’d love to take classes at the community college over the summer! If only it wasn’t so expensive. :C I applied to governors school so hopefully I can go there and take some cool classes.

The last time I went was 2009, and I’ve only been to India three times in my whole life.
I’m hoping to visit after my senior year, though.
I wanna go to the more tourist-y places cuz so far, I’ve only visited family.
