AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, how’s everyone doin.

AYYY! I was about to bump this before you did lol, anyway, 2nd semester is good! You?

Eh, I sort of succumb to the Indian Culture. Just like my parents advocate, I really want to have good grades, win at math competitions, and become a doctor, so I don’t really get affected by it. But, I must say, American food tastes wayyyy better than Indian food lol.

I’m a Muslim Indian!

I’ve actually been having an opposite problem. Next year I’m going to be in five AP classes and probably five clubs, two of which I’m the president of. And they think I won’t be able to handle it.

However, my dad is bugging me about National Merit Scholar, but he’s more like, “This is what you should be focusing on, not extra curricular activities!” I mean, I understand that, but clubs are fun.

NMS is actually pretty important @awakeningvenus

@dfafd2dfafd
I understand that, but my dad was trying to get me to take these SAT classes at a Musjid nearby, and I took them already for a while and they didn’t really help me. Most of the information was stuff that the other students were having more trouble with than I was. I’m actually planning to study the material and take practice tests over the summer with a couple of SAT practice books that I have. I want the NMS as much as my dad does, but I don’t like his insistence on me taking those classes. Also, he wants me to quit like, all of my clubs. Which is kind of ridiculous.

@apandia, 2nd semester has been okay…the worst of junior year is about to come…May sucks.

@dfafd2dfafd, TAKE THAT BACK OMG INDIAN FOOD IS SO SUPERIOR TO AMERICAN FOOD AMERICAN FOOD IS BLAND AF INDIAN FOOD ACTUALLY HAS SOME FLAVOR.

@awakeningvenus, National Merit is a really awesome thing to put on college apps but I don’t think you should devote all your time to it. EC’s matter too. I’d do both if I were you. Finding EC’s you’re passionate about and excelling in them along with NMS will make you look hella good.

@AnImpAffliction Okay, some Indian food tastes better, but the rest I don’t really like (I’m vegetarian, so we may be referring to completely different Indian food).

@AnImpAffliction
That’s pretty much my plan, yeah.

@dfafd2dfafd, have you not had paneer??? Paneer is the best thing everrrr. And biriyani!! Yummmmm.

So it’s spring break for me and all I’m doing aside from the UMD visit I went for on Monday is STUDYING. THE INDIANNNNN WAAAAAYYYYY.

@dfafd2dfafd - American food is better? What American foods are you referring to? Burgers, fries, hot dogs? Which Indian foods do you eat? Lol sorry I just can’t believe you said that.

@AnImpAffliction - Paneer is the ****. Biryani is even better, god, it’s like a dish from the gods. Good luck with dat studying lol, freshman year ftw.

@apandia, I KNOW, WHAT THE HECK IS @dfafd2dfafd THINKING???

PANEER IS THE BOMB DIGGITY AND IF YOU DISAGREE, THEN YOU’RE LYING TO YOURSELF. BIRIYANI IS LITERALLY HEAVEN ON A PLATE. I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT WHITE, OR ELSE I WOULD NEVER HAVE EATEN THESE BEAUTIFUL FOODS AND I WOULD BE EATING BURGERS EVERYDAY. D:

Shut up, freshman.
Just wait until junior year. YOU WILL CRY.

My friends look at me weird when I bring Indian food to school. Little do they know that it’s better than any food that they can even imagine.

@AnImpAffliction - WHAT TYPES OF PANEER DO YOU EAT (ex. PALAK/SAAG)? BEING WHITE IS THE EQUIVALENT OF NEVER HAVING A FOODGASM. THIS IS WHAT A FOODGASM IS IF YOU DON’T KNOW: <a href=“Urban Dictionary: foodgasm”>Urban Dictionary: foodgasm; . THIS IS WHAT HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7c/Hyderabadi_Chicken_Biryani.jpg . THAT’S IT I’M ASKING MY MOM TO MAKE BIRYANI TONIGHT MY MOUTH IS WATERING.

I KNOW WHAT’S COMING MY WAY, JUNIOR, CC HAS TURNED MY BRAIN INTO A TIME BOMB WHICH WILL EXPLODE ON MAY OF JUNIOR YEAR.

@awakeningvenus, dude I take idli to school sometimes and I get the weirdest looks from my white friends. I feel so bad for those poor souls.

@apandia, OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG HYDERABADI BIRIYANI IS SO AMAZING THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THAT IMAGE UGHHH I WON’T BE GETTING THAT FOR DINNER NONONONONONONO. I USUALLY EAT PANEER BUTTER MASALA WHICH IS THE FRIGGIN BOMB DIGGITY BUT I THINK I ATE PANEER MAKHANI LAST NIGHT WHICH IS ALSO THE BOMB DIGGITY.

Hehehehe, enjoy your first 2 years of HS. They don’t get any better. Unless you like prom. And lots of hw. And SATs.

@AnImpAffliction Oh, yeah, paneer is amazing (I like makhani and saag). When I eat it I’m literally brought to a higher plane of existence xD. We don’t really eat biryani because we are vegetarian as I said. I also like idli and rice. I don’t like Indian food like samosas and stuff that have a ton of vegetables and tomatoes stuffed in them.

@apandia Oh, heck no, I would never touch a burger or any of that fast food crap. When we go out of the house, I like to order pastas and salads and I also like to go to Subway.

American food is not just the fast food burgers. You need to expand your palate.

Hello yes I am here

idk my parents are very old and my dad is the only one who is with it, but I have them discouraging me mostly?? They don’t want me to overload on AP classes but I’m assuring them it’s fine, I want to take them. Also both my sisters are dropouts so expectations are significantly lowered for myself.

Good gosh I adore all the Indian food, especially the daals. Five-piece is my absolute favorite, but I’m ready to get down anything; it goes without saying that paneer is the food of the heavens. But the thing is, I really hate cumin and coriander and it frustrates my mother to no end uxu

@Hadron - haha nice, I’ve actually never heard of five-piece dal. If you want to take AP classes, then do freely and be the star among your siblings. Try to motivate your siblings too, my brother also is the average student (1800 SAT, 3.2 GPA), and he’s just waiting until he’s in college next year to spread his wings. Keep on looking through CC, it’s inspirational to find what other students have done, and what you can too, but also is condescending if you really haven’t done much.

@rosie19 - Lol I implore you to look up “what is American food” because that’s what I did and found the expected. What other American foods do you know of? I can’t really think of anything else.

@AnImpAffliction
I took baeٌgan with rice and thaal the other day. It was delicious, but even I could tell why my friends were giving me some weird looks. (Makes me feel hungry thinking about it.)
