My parents would be fine If I dated, though I would be a bit hesitant to say I had a girlfriend (If I did have one)

One of my Tamil friends has a secret boyfriend and she tells her parents that he’s her SAT tutor but they just go to the mall or something. I admire her bravery.

When I was little instead of bribes I would get threatened a beating if I failed another reading test @foolish

well, don’t be failing things then.

Oh no it’s fine now, I now beat them

Estoy desi/asian!

How did you guys freaking get above a 2100 on the SATs!?!
i took the PSATs and got a 155 (i had the right answer in my booklet but bubbled in the wrong answer on the scantron >.<). I received a lecture. Everyone in my family is an engineer so my parents want a doctor now haha XD which is good because i want to be a surgeon. There was no need to convince me haha( which was a huge relief for them)

LOL I didn’t get a 2100 on my SAT.

This has been bugging me for a while. For any people who practice Hinduism/are vegetarian, what is your stance on meat in Indian restaurants? Like I always see Tandoori chicken everywhere I go. Is it fake Indian food marketed towards the general American public? Like how orange chicken isn’t really Chinese food?

I’m not Hindu, so y’all can correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is that most Hindus avoid beef, as cows have significance in Hinduism. Chicken and lamb are a-ok :P

^^
Yep, it’s Sikhs who avoid all meats.

There are some Hindus who avoid all meat (Brahmins for example). I’m from a Hindu family but I’m atheist. And my parents said I could eat beef if I wanted to.

@Yakisoba tandoori chicken is real indian food, and as marshmallowpop said, Chicken/Lamb are fine; My family eats beef occasionally , in our house such religious rules are not so important.

I’m hindu and we never eat any red meat. I do eat chicken (ie butter chicken, tandoori chicken) and my family eats fish but otherwise vegetarian

Sihks don’t eat meat?

They can choose whether they want to or no. Its up to them.

Sikh’s can choose to eat meat or choose not to eat meat, It all matters on if you have taken amrit which is when thinks become stricter. Also this made my day: Vennu Mallesh - Ice Bucket Challenge (Musical Version) - YouTube;
