Just wondering if anyone has any info on how difficult it is getting in when deferred from ED to RD, especially for students who update their app and continue to show strong interest?
What are you doing to update your app and to show interest?
@vh1818 I called my admissions counselor, sent a letter restating that it’s my number 1 choice, why I want to go there, updated it with some community service stuff and awards I got, and then just have been emailing back and forth with the admissions department.
I think what you have already done sounds really good! I’m not sure what else you could do, but I’m interested to see if anyone has any ideas.
Did you visit the campus and fly down to make an interview? Make sure your grades are strong your senior year. See if you can drum a letter from a regional alumnus with some pull. Continue to persist. Even if you don’t get in as a freshman, you can still get in as a transfer. I know two students who transferred from Duke to WashU. They didn’t think Duke was a right fit for them after a couple of years there.
If anyone else has any info, please add!
