Any info on Lyon College in Arkansas?

I don't know why, as I'm already in college and pretty satisified with my choice, but that school absolutely fascinates me (discovered it late and sio never applied). For the potential help of future applicants, what do you know about the college?

Little bitty but I've been there. ;) Lyon has a good but limited regional rep with other colleges. The campus is cute, there is not much town around and it's on top of a big hill. Really wild roads up there. (I ride motorcycles, that's why I've been there.)

A friend of mine is a professor there. I used to live in the area and kids did a few activities at Lyon. Very small, pretty campus. They are into Scottish heritage--bagpipes, Scottish festival, etc. Good music program. I think there are a lot of pre-meds, too. In Arkansas, Lyon is one of the better private schools, above average students, (a step below Hendrix academically), more conservative, preppier students. Not a party school (can't remember, but I think it is a dry county). They offer some good merit aid, and it is not expensive for a private school. Some people might not like the small town, Batesville, pop. about 10,000,--it is about 1 1/2 hours from Little Rock. You can probably get this all on their website.

Thanks for the info!
Cur,
When you say "tiny." are you referring to the actual campus (as in walkable in ten minutes) or just the small student body? I know your D is interested in Bio (as am I!). Did she consider it?

atomom,
How preppy is preppy (popped collars, etc)?

I was speaking of the student body. It did not meet my D's size requirements so I didn't research it much. For the right kid, I'd think it might be just the ticket. Two other small schools I liked were Albertson in Idaho and Westminster in Missouri.

Campus is very easily walkable--probably 5 minutes.
Preppy may not be the right word. A little of that private school atmosphere-- so not very preppy. It's not filled with super rich kids, if that's what you mean.
(I suppose nothing in Arkansas could be considered that preppy.
Go ahead and laugh--I always see the expression "popped collars," but I don't know exactly what that means).

Pssst, Atomom. Picture Polo shirts with the collars "up" or popped. Seriously stupid looking.
