@DesiBaba D’s letter doesn’t mention any major. Just says MET. I guess they will have a common plan for MET, regardless of engineering major applied to.
Course work is different for ECCS and ieor. So I’m assuming it is based on what u put in apps.
Accepted into MET, applied for EECS + Business so probably got that strand
Not offered any specific scholarship
OOS
ACT - 33
SAT Physics - 720
SAT Math - 710
Great Interview, well-written essays (at least in my opinion) and Highly focused ECs with a passion for robotics and already working one creating a startup.
I guess scores aren’t everything when it comes to the MET program
Note - The top 2000 applicants were notified early and MET applicants are also supposed to know early, whether accepted or rejected from the program.
i did get regents either, i applied for ieor
i had a 36 on the ACT ( on my third try lol, no superscore) 780 on sat physics 790 on sat math, 9 aps including this year, im in a robotics club and business club at my school, there are 2 b’s on my transcript (now three lol) the rest are A’s…my essay made no sense to some people but if you knew the program well it did. IEOR, no regents
I made a groupme!

Did not get accepted or rejected means that you did not get into MET, but being considered for the engineering degree, EECS or IEOR.
Did everyone who got in got and interview? Thx
@Pokedictator, thank u for sharing, but have not received acceptance or rejection from MET. Just got an email saying will hear on March 30th.
Same here @Teach-me, almost starting to worry that they’ve forgotten we applied to the program too!
@root127, I just got this email,
"We realize you’ve been anxiously awaiting your decision from UC Berkeley and want to let you know that your application is currently under review.
While you may have heard that a few applicants received notification of their decision, the majority of applications, like yours, are still under review.
Freshman decisions will be released approximately late afternoon / early evening (Pacific time) on March 30, 2017, via the MAP@Berkeley portal."
@root127, since @Batwing99 reported a rejections email, I assume that all MET acceptance and rejections have gone out already. Those waiting to hear are for the regular engineering program. I am surprised at #batwing99 rejection since he sure looked like a shoe in for the MET program. I am sorry @Batwing99 . I am sure you will get into another great program. Your stats and EC look very impressive.
@Teach-me, I’ve also just received that email. The fact that @Batwing99 received a rejection email is what doesn’t make sense to me, as surely if we did not get in, we would have gotten something similar? At this point I’ve no clue what to think :s
Also, @Batwing99, I’m sorry you didn’t get in too. You seemed pretty excited and passionate, so I’m sure you’ll do great in other programs like @Teach-me said.
@root127 I also got this from the program website:http://met.berkeley.edu/admissions/
Go to last sentence: “Applicants who are selected for the M.E.T. Program will be notified during February or March of 2017.”
However, on the regular 2021 thread someone said that all of MET were already informed. i have no idea how they know. I sent them an email to ask. If I hear back, I will post. Pretty unorganized, and random.
I believe @Batwing99 was offered EECS early. Probably thats why the letter explicitly mentioned decision about
MET I’m assuming that in March, others will get similarly worded when accepted to other major. I’m sure there will be still open slot for MET as I don’t expect everyone to join the program and program size is so small they might want to make sure it is at full capacity. My 2 cents.
Admittance letters for the M.E.T. program were emailed on Friday, February 10. If you did not receive an acceptance letter to the M.E.T. program, then your application is now under consideration for admittance to either the EECS or IEOR department (whichever tract you chose on your application).
Admittance letters will be emailed from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on March 30.
Best wishes,
Dawn Kramer
@Teach-me where did you get that message from? :((
@meawesum7 I asked them, and this was the reply.
My Son got his official acceptance letter for MET via snail mail. The letter mentions the engineering MAJOR (which was not on portal)
