So, east coaster here. Out in CA visiting a ton of schools, and I have to say that I loved USC. I saw UCLA and UCSB as well, and just couldn’t get USC off my mind. Anyone have any insider knowledge of what it’s like going to USC? Like what it’s like living on campus there and in the area. What the community is like. If you liked the school or not. Really anything, sorry for not being too specific I’m just curious about your whole experience there.

Lots of school spirit. Very good alumni network. Prestigious within California - viewed as a football school outside of California. The surrounding neighborhood isn’t nearly as bad as its reputation. I went to grad school there in the late 80s, and I’ll give it a thumbs-up.
Both my kids are happy USC grads. S went there with a very nice merit award (more than 50% tuition) and studied engineering. D visited during move in day and parents weekend and thought it was a great place, so she transferred in and joined him. She was a cinema major. Both kids enjoyed their years as students. Since they graduated, they have improved the facilities even further than when the kids were students. Both kids enjoyed living in the dorms on campus and apartments later. D continues to live near campus in a house with other USC cinema grads.
