any international experts?

i have an international friend applying from outside the states, but now that she's taken the tests and sent applications to schools her family's got some financial problems. if she can't get FA she probably won't be able to come, but she's done pretty well and i don't think her efforts should go to waste.. INTERNATIONAL FA IS STINGY ..but any hopeful advice?

im not much of an expert, but
it depends on which schools she has applied to--the international pool is very competitive and selective, but once an international applicant is accepted--i think there is 100% financial aid: I think this goes especially with private schools like Williams and Amherst.
I do not know other school policies besides those two.

My two cents.

My TA is from Canada. He get's no federal financial aid. He does get a stipend and tuition remission for being a TA. The rest of the money he needs to live is based on his savings and money from parents. His stipend is about enough to pay for his room and board. There is always non-need based scholarships.
Fderal Student Aid is only available to:
US Citizens
US Nationals
US permanent residents

she'll probably find a job or something but i'm not sure whether her parents will let her go if they think they can't afford it
anything more about being a TA? i'm a dummy in this area

and thanx for ur replies, both of you!
