Any international students who applied SCEA?

@Soheils Hahahaha, that was quite good actually
not yet, even though I applied october 15th, getting kinda worried tbh.

I applied oct 16th too haha
Oh well

Another International here. Applied around the 30th.

@MAS9797 nice!
where are you from? what do you plan to study? have you received an interview yet?

Sorry-double post.

I’ve been offered an interview guys

@ZAPrez nice. What are your stats? And how did your interview go?

@Sawadogo Sorry for the late reply; I’m currently writing my finals so it’s hard to juggle everything. Um my GPA is good (I’m an A student) and I have decent SAT scores, though they would be considered low on this site but because Harvard isn’t as obsessed about the SAT I guess I’ve faired well.

My interview is this Friday. This could mean nothing though so we’ll see what happens.

@ZAPrez alright. All the best on Friday!

US dual citizen living in Germany over here!

So not really an international…

Am a Kenyan(East Africa) applying to Dartmouth but I know both a boy and a girl who’ve done H.The girl’s chances are good since she has a 2250 with 710 and above in two subject tests and she somehow got the president to write her a very personalized LoR since the dad is a big wig in the political scene here…Ooh plus she needs no aid and her mum was in Harvard so yah she’s getting in.

Hello guys, I’m a newbie here. Harvard class of 2020! Well, @please5-do-not% that just sucks for me LOL. I’m a Kenyan applicant as well, but It’s gonna be hard to beat a 2250, legacy, presidential-connections URM girl. Hahahaha wish her the best in all cases. I hope we all get in. But of now, this is my lucky day **(chuckle like the one you do when you realise you don’t know anything on the exam paper). Anyways none I have heard of yet got offered an interview from Kenya, perhaps any other internationals?

OMG I’ve been reading these threads since midnight and it’s now 6:00 AM GMT & I haven’t slept a wink.Am in Nairobi btw…which part of Kenya are you in if you don’t mind me asking?

Lol, I just saw this. I’m from Nairobi. @please5-do-not% but I did my primary education (Elementary and Middle School) in North America

Interview went REALLY well! It lasted 2 and a half hours and we had to cut it then because of the interviewer’s other commitments.

@ZAPrez I want details!!! Haha I’m glad to hear it wen’t well…Sorry if I’m being nosey, but it’s pretty rare for internationals to get interviews…2.5 hours is awesome btw! Congrats!

Is it really rare?? Well the interview was really personal and the interviewer offered to buy me coffee (yay!) She works in psychology while I’m very much into politics, so I thought it was not gonna be great but it was AMAZING!

She said Harvard was made for people like me and that they clearly see something. She also said I will change Africa which was really nice and that I will be president one day and Harvard will open doors for me.

@ZAPrez seems like you had a great interview! Just had to comment because of how remarkably similar your interview experience was to mine - I’m an international (Japanese citizen living in Singapore) who’s interested in politics (future Government and NELC joint concentrator, hopefully), and I also had a 2.5 hour interview with a former psychology concentrator!

@karakoram Oh my god! That’s so strange and awesome. Please tell me you’re in awe as I am? How did you feel your interview went? I’m generally really interested in discussing something with you so I’ll PM you some time.

@ZAPrez yeah definitely! I think it was pretty good overall, kind of awkward at the start because my interviewer was really expressionless and even if he said something like “That’s cool” it would be in this deadpan voice… but he became a lot friendlier as the interview progressed and we ended up talking about pretty much everything, even the Halloween drag night at Adams House! Also sure, message me anytime.
