<p>I'm just curious, is there anyone who takes (or took) AP english of some sort in their junior year? Our school only lets seniors have the privilege, but I think juniors would certainly be able to handle the course. Anyone have any comments?</p>
<p>Represent... I am a junior and am currently taking AP English Language & Composition. I'll be taking AP English Literature & Composition next year (senior year).</p>
<p>As a junior I took AP Lit and it was pretty easy. Surprisingly, it had helped my writing a lot more than AP Writing has this year. </p>
<p>The trend I noticed from my high school is that Juniors in AP classes often had the highest grades and put in more effort than Seniors.</p>
<p>Thanks for the feedback. I am planning on doing AP Lit and Comp. Junior year (I'll talk to my school and see from there), since I think it's definitely worth it if I am willing to pull the weight and effort.</p>
<p>I'm a junior in AP English. At my school, AP English classes mix juniors and seniors together. It's a bit odd since we have more than enough classes to separate juniors and seniors (we have seven or so AP English classes at my school), but I guess the administration has decided we learn better together or something. Right now I'm technically in lit and comp and next year I'll be in lang and comp, but the truth of the matter is that our classes don't change much from one year to the next... essentially, I'll be taking the exact same class next year with a different reading list. Our classes are reading and writing intensive (definitely AP level) but they don't really focus on teaching us the AP test.</p>

<p>To im_blue and andrew1218, do your high schools have the IB program? I'm asking because mine does and my school also does Language 11 and Literature 12, while other nearby schools approach the matter differently.</p>
<p>No, my high school didn't have the IB program. We had a gifted program where kids in 7th and 8th grade could take high school classes, so the sequence beginning in 8th grade was English 1, 2, 3, AP Lang, and AP Lit.</p>
<p>I'm a junior in AP English Language. It is a fast-paced course with a focus on European Literature (Honors English II as a Sophomore focuses on American literature) and is very writing intensive. Next year I'll be in AP Literature.</p>
