Any final advice and comments would be appreciated
Thanks!

Claremont McKenna College (ED)- Low reach
Babson College (EA)- Match
Case Western Reserve University (EA)- Match
University of Michigan (EA)- Match
Tulane University (EA)- Match, Reach (because of acceptance rate)

Overall your app seems pretty solid. I was wondering what your rank is? Your EC’s are very extensive. They show how much you are drawn toward international work. Assuming you write good essays, got good recs, and go to any potential interviews, you should have no problem getting into most if not all of these.

As for your question on my thread, Drexel regular undergrad is my safety as well as USP. I probably wouldn’t do BU undergrad regular because it is out of state and I would prefer to stay close if possible.

Good Luck!!

I agree with almo. Your academics are good and your ECs are really nice. You should not have much trouble getting into most of, if not all of these schools.

i too agree with almo on EVERYTHING. highlight your unique ECs like internet thing for soccer, it’ll greatly increase your chances! (however your GPA is not too hot which will really hurt you!)

@almo our school doesnt rank but im 100%sure im in the top half.
and regarding your post i didnt know that drexel was your safety so meaning your college list looks great. best luck of you and thanks for advice

@harvest hopefully haha. i am considering other schools that i like but for now im only concerned with the early plan ones.

@anonymousstudent. i hope my ecs overall reflect my passion. and yess… gpa thats my biggest concern haha. thanks for a realistic comment

I agree with above posters on everything except their assessment for Michigan and Tulane. Michigan’s a reach not a match, unless your possibly go for kinesiology. That GPA of yours is pretty bad. Your test scores are solid and your ECs and probably recs are very strong. However that GPA will seriously drag you down. If you had a 3.6, I would say your chances are pretty strong but not a 3.3. Michigan’s acceptance percentage is declining with the switch to the common app, it went from 50% in 2010 to 40% in 2011 after a 10,000 increase in applicants but the same number admitted. This year will probably increase by at least 5,000 to 45,000 if not to 50,000. That put’s your acceptance rate at 30-33% overall and probably 20-25% for OOS because that’s where the increase is coming from. Also, regarding Tulane, just because it has a low acceptance rate does not necessarily mean it’s harder to get into. It could be because a large number of weak students apply for relatively few spots. Check the average stats of admitted students, that’s a much better indication of the difficulty of a school. Tulane is a match not a reach.

@anthony haha i actually thought the same. but thanks. i hope i can get in

Just one more thing. Im not applying for financial aid

GPA not that good, but you’ve got impressive combo of ECs, but since your essays seem good i think you’d be fine, i’m not sure about Michigan but i think you’ll make it, Babson and Tulane definitely, Claremont if it works in your favor, I don’t know much about Case Western, sorry!

good to see that someone on CC can actually spell Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Doe
Tae Kang Do
Tai Kwon Do
it stopped being funny after a while

CM (ED) -Reach
UMich - Low Reach/ High Match
Tulane - Low/Mid Match

Good luck and make suree your essays are great! Awesome SAT scores by the way :)

I think you should apply for financial aid. Claremont McKenna is need blind, and for a private school, that’s half of your annual income.
I think with CM that might be a bit hard, because your GPA isn’t the best… but they do like athletes and your ECs are good!
