just wondering how many MUN'ers there are at CC?
what conferences you guys go to, etc. :)

Hey yeah, I'm a model UN'er (or I was. I'm a senior and our year is over. I might continue in college, however, depending where I go). Our school attends two conferences: the Harvard MUNC in December and the Ivy League MUNC hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in January. Because it was my senior year I opted to attend only one conference, ILMUNC (I've been to both, however, in past years). I was on the Summit for Global Anti-Terrorism (SGAT) and represented Italy.

Model UN-er present.

I was just at day one of Seton Hall Model UN. haha, it was a lot of fun.

can't wait until UNA this year! I'm missing junior prom for it. XD. my best friend and I were Sweden (honorable mention!). =] great times. hot guys.

BERKELEY MODEL UN...anyone out there? well, that was my first conference, and it's my first year. fun... :)

Yep yep we go to Brown Penn and Cornell. 1 week til Cornell. :)

I'm a Model UN-er. the main conferences my school goes to are Brown, UMass Amherst and Yale.

My school doesn't have a ModelUN but i was thinking about trying to start one. any advice?

Courtney, go for it. It's something that interests a lot of kids. It would help if you could find a teacher at your school (preferably a history or language) teacher to run and organize it. It would also help to try and get the school to fund part of it.

I have a teacher that I think would be the advisor, but im not sure how to approach this. My school has about 2000 students and im scared that this might be a major undertaking

I did model UN once before deciding I didn't like it.. but my school does go to a number of conferences (Harvard is the only one I can remember right now..) and we host one in the winter.

Courtney- if your school has some kind of Gifted and Talented program or even a World Affairs kind of club, maybe you could start MU through that? That's how my school does it.

MUNer.. I'm doing IB IN shanghai, so I went to the Peking University National MUN High School conference 06 and 07.

wow it seems like there are quite a number of MUN'ers here
and courtney, you should DEFINITELY do it - besides it looks impressive (college-wise) AND MUN is amazing :D

it seems like a lot of y'all go to ILMUNC (at UPenn) and HMUNC (at Harvard) - going next year?

also littleatheist, my friends were People's Republic of China on SGAT - remember them?

My school only goes to the one in our state, Arkansas. I dunno we are a very small club (all the money goes to sports)

Hey yeah auzsoleil I remember PR China! I was of the opposite opinion as them for both of the topics we debated at the Penn conference so I didn't really interact with them all that much, but I definitely saw them/said hello once or twice.

I just got back from NMUN and had the most amazing experience of my life! so if anyone wants to talk about it then feel free to message me!! =]

I've been for one, but that's in Dubai, so probably way different to yours.

(Ambassador of Germany to Security Council) :D
