I was just curious to know what kind of stats Monroe Scholars have and when did you find out? My daughter just to in ED.

you need to be in the top 10% of your class and have at least 700-710 on the critical reading and math sections...those are the two main criteria for earning it as a freshman. Last year the average SAT was roughly 1510 for Monroe freshman in 05-06.

DD got 780 CR, 720 M 710 V...GPA 4.2 do you think she's competitive?

From the looks of it, yes; however, it also depends on how many other people have stats better than that, but i would say thats a good situation to be in...

Monroe for freshman is usually sent out in the beginning of April, once they look at the whole pool of applicants, and they sort them as they come in.

Thanks for your input! Whether she gets Monroe or not, she's thrilled to be coming to William and Mary!

I believe it changed a few years ago and you can also apply for Monroe after Freshmen year, so they give out fewer spots to Freshmen and save some to give out later.

you can but its by invite only

I had 790M, 750V and a 3.85UW with 5 AP courses and the rest honors, and I didn't get it. Sometimes you never can tell...
