The Delaware in DC website indicates they’ve already reached capacity for the program. My son sent in a deposit yesterday, so he probably missed the cut off. I’ve emailed asking if there would be a wait list, if accepting Del in DC would have impact on the UDel fall wait list and whether classes taken at other schools besides AU are transferable as part of the Spring admit or does a student need to reapply as a transfer student. I will post answers when (if) I get them.
Wow!!! That is amazing that it filled up in about 2 weeks from when it was first offered. Hopefully not too many people where waiting to attend the Decision Day Presentation about it on April 18 before they made a decision about accepting it. I guess it would be a moot point to attend now for this issue but I guess if a student has definitely decided to accept the Spring 2016 admission offer then going might still be useful for other reasons.
UD Admissions replied quickly to my email with some answers: A. Yes, they will be generating a wait list for Delaware in DC and will send out a communication in next few days; B. Choosing or not choosing Del in DC will not impact wait list. “If we do go to it” depends on who accepts offers of admission and what programs are open; and C. Regarding whether classes for Spring admits can be taken in the fall elsewhere besides AU: “A student can elect community college. The cannot matriculate at another 4 year institution, otherwise you would be considered a transfer.”
Wow I didn’t think the DC in fall would fill that fast. My daughter received notification yesterday that shes in the fall DC program. Does anyone know how many students they accepted to the program? We will be attending the 4/18 accepted student day. Eager to find out how this is all going to work out.
@ Congrats to your daughter! When did she send in her deposit and reply form?
My portal just randomly stopped working.I wonder if that means they are updating it
ProudNYMomma
She received the offer last week and marked off all 3 choices. The following day she mailed the deposit @6:30 am before getting onto school bus. She followed up with an email to admissions after school, letting them know deposit was on way & her preference was the DC program. Admissions responded almost immediately that they would “make a note of her preference” in her file. I didnt actually see the email so not sure if anything else was said. Hope this helps:)
My Blue Hen Home has said since mid-January that I was accepted, I’ve gotten an acceptance letter, and I have been accepted to UD’s World Scholars Program, but my Blue Hen Home now says that my application is under review. Does anyone know why? It’s kind of scaring me a bit.
I would not worry about it. The only “official” notification of acceptance is the written acceptance letter. The UD portal has been known to do some strange things now and then. I suspect it will soon return to the way it was. I hope you have a great experience as a pioneer in the World Scholars Program. Best wishes.
Thank you @Mwallenmd
Yeah, my blue hen home hasn’[t updated BUT I called my mother and apparently my acceptance letter came in! I’m so happy right now
@2Kawaii4Senpai - Congrats!!!
2Kawaii4Senpai…so happy for you!!!
Thanks! Just have to get the financials and some other stuff situated out. I have a lot of credits and most of them have been brought in as electives which needs to be changed.
Thanks for your support everyone and goodluck!
Quick ques for anyone on wait list …did your portal change and if so what does it say? Also was a letter also sent?
@nelson97 - My son’s portal first changed with offer of wait list and/or Spring '16/DC (see post # 465 above). Once he replied, his portal changed to:
“” My Application
You plan to start: 2015 Fall Semester
Application: Thanks for applying!
Status: Active Wait list
Decision: Thank you for responding to the wait list offer. We will share a final decision with you after May 1. We appreciate your patience. If you no longer wish to remain on the wait list, please email admissions@udel.edu
@brucemag did your son receive a response regarding Delaware in DC?
@ProudNYMomma UDel sent him an email saying he was on the Del in DC wait list (as well as the fall wait list). They did reply to my email with informative answers (see post #482).
@brucemag thanks and lots of luck to your boy , really hoping for the best for him!
@brucemag I saw your answers in post #482, they were very helpful, thank you for sharing. Good luck to your son. Maybe we will see you on the 18th!
