Any more acceptances for Fall 2015 out there?

I applied to UD on 10/31/14 and received my acceptance letter on 12/8/14. I’m going in as a Medical Technology Interest, and after my sophomore year I’m hoping to get accepted into the Medical Diagnostics/Pre-Physician Assistant major. I live in NJ, my GPA is a 4.1 W and 3.6 UW, and my SAT score is a 2100: 660 CR, 730 M, 710 W. I received 9,000/yr in merit scholarships.

So far I’m the only one from my school who has heard back from UD, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that I did an admissions interview about a week after I applied. There is a facebook page for prospective/accepted students and there are a lot of people who have been accepted and even committed already.

Applied to UD on 10/10/14, received “High Volume” letter on 12/19/14 (stating that due to the high volume of qualified applicants, likely won’t receive decision until mid-March) - portal was not updated. 20 students from my OOS HS applied to UD. Seems like UD admissions standards and number of applicants are particularly high this year. Those who’ve been accepted must be Honors program or exceptional students - congratulations!

I submitted my application on November 16th and the optional writing supplement on December 6th. When do you think I will get my acceptance letter? My GPA is high (3.7), but my SAT is low (1570). I want to retake the SAT in January, but I’m not sure if I’ll get my decision before then.

I just got in last weekend! Doing lots of research, but right now it’s my top choice.

To my surprise she did get a scholarship … $2k per year or $8k in total… Just comes in a separate letter a few weeks after admission …
However, she most likely will not attend she got into her number 1 entry level PA program with a generous scholarship

Do you mind posting her SAT / GPA stats for reference?

Sure we are in State 3.7u/4.55 w 29 ACT #6 in class out of 210… Carson Scholar, NHS, Student Govenment and athletics … I honestly think her teachers recommendations sealed it she received merit every place she applied state schools and private colleges…

@Fauster thank you! Her portal was updated a couple of days after the acceptance and she is being offered $10k
per year. We really appreciate the $10K; however UD is still very expensive for OOS students. She is also accepted in the engineering dept at Penn State University park, but won’t know about their highly selective honors program until March. Not sure what the final decision will be.

Thx college money man…good info. Surprised she didn’t get more, but I guess in state that’s a pretty good deal

@ging23‌ it was on my university Delaware portal! It said something along the lines of “congratulations on your acceptance into the university of Delaware honors program”

Also, a letter about it came with my admissions packet.

I interviewed and did a campus visit, you guys think I’ll get in with 3.6 UW gpa 3.8 Weighted and a 1850 SAT if I’m OOS? Have plenty of sports and work experience also.

As an OOS applicant IMHO unless you are applying for the most competitive majors at UD (i.e. Chem Engineering, Nursing) your chances of being accepted are reasonably good. I am assuming your HS course rigor was intense and included advanced courses (i.e. Honors courses, AP courses, etc.). Good luck.

Mwallenmd, yes I took 2/3 AP classes junior year, 1/3 senior year, but am also in honors math and English. Also got a 710 on SAT math and am going in as an accounting major.

.

@nyand I was recently accepted with a 1910 SAT and a tough AP course load to the Business school and got a 7500 per year scholarship. You should be fine.

@nyand Im also a 2 sport varsity athlete so we have pretty similar stats.

Has anyone on here committed yet?

I was accepted to the engineering department and honors program today! Does anyone know if/how I can find out if I got a scholarship through the online portal?

I’ve noticed from the UD admissions twitter that more people have been accepted yesterday and today so I’m assuming they’re sending more letters out. My friend got admitted today (OOS) and received letter in the mail. She applied 11/15. Let’s hope for more soon!

@Tooth1010‌ My daughter has committed and sent in deposit! From the second she first walked on campus she loved it. It was a very easy choice for us!
