<p>Somewhat surprised that D hasn't heard anything about possible merit scholarships, which now appear complete. Would have thought she'd be a legitimate candidate (2360 SAT, 700's SAT II's, 4.0 uw, 2nd of 160, good ec's/recs). You just never know.</p>

<p>There are quite a few candidates that have amazing records that have not been offered the big scholarships. Each year, it gets more and more difficult and the applicants are more qualified. Certainly, many of these students would be going to the interview a few years ago. USC has done a good job of attracting more top students. It is misleading to look at past statistics for a university that is on the rise. Those numbers obviously do not apply to this year.</p>
<p>yeah i got the deans scholarship today. im pretty sure they're done giving out the presidental/trustee ones. im still waiting to hear from the alumni association...but apparently i can only receive up to 2500$ from other usc sources</p>
<p>magsdad, Given your DD's stats, which I congratulate you for, I am very surprised that she was not named a candidate for the Trustee scholarship. Did she apply in time for scholarship consideration?</p>
<p>Woah! I just received a response from an email I sent to USC about if I am eligible for merit-based scholarship (I wanted to make sure they had receive everything properly). Their response was:</p>

<p>Which sounds like I'm getting a scholarship! I sort of expected one since I have been accepted already, but it's still nice to know a letter is probably on the way! I'm excited! Now just to worry about which one :o</p>

<p>I wonder. If someone gets named an NMF and receives the Pres scholarship, and also gets a Dean's -- does that mean they're receiving a 3/4ths scholarship?</p>

<p>Argh! I just receive two letters from USC today, and I anxiously opened them to find them to be the Thematic Option and FSH applications/invitations. Still no scholarship letter. Interestingly enough, they were sent February 5, so its taken 11 days to get here... which is pretty long.</p>
