So far, we know that Williams, Wesleyan, and Pomona have started accepting students from their wait lists.

Anyone hear from Middlebury (or know someone who has)?

The rumor on campus is that Midd overenrolled and some freshmen may receive posh upperclass housing next year. First years in Forest!?! what

You know, I was thinking that might happen. They accepted more students this year than in years past (numbers-wise), supposedly because of the higher quality of this year's applicant pool. The number of academic "fives" (highest rating for an applicant) apparently doubled this year, and I think that Clagett was worried that the college might lose many of these top students to Ivys, etc. This resulted in Midd's acceptance rate being a bit higher than others (Pomona, Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, Swat), despite a substancial increase in applicants.

I've heard the same rumor that there's not supposed to be enough housing for freshmen next year because the yield was too high...

I was told by the Admissions office that the waitlist would not be used at all this year.

Damn! There goes another one.
