Are there any NM or NA's who are considering UF? Are you guys going to go? Is the scholarship offer enough for you? I'd love to hear some insight from you guys if you're choosing Florida over other schools.

My d is NMF and considering UF. The OOS tuition waiver is a big incentive and she liked the school when we visited a while back. There were so many options for her to pursue which is helpful because she has not decided on a major. Once she hears back from the rest of her schools she’ll have to make the big decision. What are your thoughts?

Good thread. My S is a junior and likely NMF from GA. We toured Bama and really liked it, but engineering is ranked so much higher at UF. We are planning to tour this summer. Can anyone summarize the NMF package at UF for me? Thx. JR

@jroback Well I am a NAF from Alabama (@jroback) and I am extremely familiar with Bama and it’s academics and its scholarship package. The campus is just gorgeous isn’t it?

As of now, the scholarship package from UF that I received for NAF is an OOS tuition waiver UP to in-state tuition (which means you would pay in-state tuition) and $4000 a year ($2000 a semester). It doesn’t cover everything but it diminishes cost a lot.

@justwaiting My biggest battle with this is that I would be turning down a full ride to Bama to attend Florida. I think it’d be a nice change of environment and I think the academic prestige/networking opportunites would be worth the cost though. I want to go into accounting and Florida has an amazing business program.

Does anyone know what the deadline is to declare Florida as your first choice for NMF scholarship purposes? I can’t find it on the website, but maybe I missed it…

Thanks SC.
