has anyone heard anything from the Hartt school after their audition? I auditioned about 3 weeks ago and called their office yesterday, yet they were unable to give out acceptance info based upon the program’s decision policy. If you were notified of your acceptance, did you receive a phone call/email/mail? If you could please reply below, that would be really great. Break legs!
@broadwaybabyyy - My daughter’s acceptance came in the mail. She auditioned in December and received the letter two weeks ago. Hope you get great news soon!
My D. auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds and hasn’t heard yet.
@broadwaybabyyy My daughter received a letter 2 weeks ago as well. She auditioned at NY Unifieds. She got her letter during Chicago Unifieds, so they seem to be deciding as they go, at least for some. From everything we can tell, it looks like a great program. Trying to learn more…
Auditioned in Chi, and still waiting!
My daughter did a video audition and received an e-mail acceptance today. Excited!
I auditioned at Chicago Unifieds and am still waiting!
My daughter received her acceptance by email this week, on March 14th, but we know kids that auditioned in January that got theirs a long time ago, so maybe they’re doing them in batches?
We’re STILL waiting. I called yesterday and all they said is they’d have all the decisions in the mail by the first week of April.
I heard the same thing and have seen that some have received acceptances by mail (not email) so it seems they are notifying in different ways. Keep the faith!
OK. Keeping faith.
Their Theater (MT and AT) Division office manager Ashley has been out on medical leave for a couple of weeks and they are on break this week, so things may be backed up. I know the waiting is extremely difficult, but hang in there!
Does Hartt issue separate decisions for academic admission and MT admission? Or is it a single notification? Thanks!
@Fotokat - As far as I know, they issue only one admission decision, at least that was the case with my D. She was an Early Action admit though, having done their December 2014 audition. She was notified of admission in mid-January of 2015 (about 3 weeks after her audition - it was before NY Unifieds) - She got an invitation to an accepted student day event and we assumed it was only academic admission, but when she called they let her know it was for the MT program - so I think they are an “all at once” school. But I can’t be entirely sure about that, especially for the regular notification students.
Does anyone know how many MT students are accepted each year?
@muffinsmom when I visited the campus and auditioned there, they told us that they admit around 50 people each year. They expect about half to accept, and half of that 50 to choose a different school. Yet, the MT Class of 2019 has 40 students, yielding only 10 declined the admission offer. This year, they told us they are aiming for less because they did not expect that many to attend their school. Sorry I can’t give you an exact number for the class of 2020! You can always contact the artistic faculty for more info. Break a leg!
So if we haven’t heard back yet should we assume a no?
My D. received an acceptance in the mail just last week. Unlike schools that call accepted students all on one day and if you didn’t get called you know the answer, I don’t think you can assume anything here until you have a decision in your hand. Best of luck!
Thanks @fotokat
@PickALittle I’m definitely still waiting for them too! As are a few friends of mine…
