Congratulations to all! It really is a fantastic program!

First and foremost, congratulations to all of you have heard positive new from Otterbein, a wonderful honor and accomplishment for these kids!newbietheatremom, did your daughter get accepted to MT or Acting? And how about you SSJJKK, MT or Acting? How do you know all calls have been made? Thanks so much!

My husband called admissions today and he was told acceptance calls were already made and rejection and wait list letters were being sent out over the next few days.

D received a letter notifying her that she is waitlisted for MT today. No mention made of MT/Dance, which is what she auditioned for, so I’m not really clear. It did say that there’s no “ranking” of the wait list and that eventual acceptance would depend on who specifically from the accepted students declined their offer.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, my D was accepted for Acting. Does anyone know what happens next? Although she received a call saying she was accepted back on March 6, we have not received anything “formal” in the mail or by email to send back.

newbietheatremom,

I signed the letters and put them in the mail on March 9. Please call Teri Devlin at 614-823-1219 in the morning and let her know that you haven’t yet received a letter. We’ll print and send a duplicate.

If any of the rest of you have not heard from us by mail, please do the same.

I do know that everyone who’s been accepted in the first round has been called.

Hope this helps.

Dr. John

Thanks Dr John! We’ll call in the morning.

I recieved a call last week or so about being accepted into the MT - BFA - Just waiting to hear more details. Anyone know when Financial Packages will be sent out or if you may have gotten one already… excited to come visit the school and learn more.

Dramafreak, the initial acceptance letter and financial award letter can arrive as early as a few days after the call of acceptance. However, the full package including loans/work study usually arrives later as sometimes more paperwork is required to finalize amounts, etc. It might take a few weeks to arrive.

Any idea when those Packages will be sent? I still havent recieved anything and its the 29th???

Dramafreak,

Our son was called 3/6, received the formal letter a few days later with the scholarship info. However, the full financial aid package wasn’t dated until 3/21 and arrived in NJ on 3/25. We did also have to go through additional verification since our circumstances are a bit different this year. I imagine your package should arrive any day now. If you don’t receive anything by Saturday, you might want to give a call on Monday. The folks in the FA office are very patient and helpful. I know it’s difficult to assess schools without knowing the full financial picture and many families will form their decision over the next couple weeks during high school spring breaks. Enjoy your visit!

Here it is Friday… no Package yet - (big heavy sigh)

I called today, and this may only apply to my D, but I was told that her financial aid information would go out in the next 5-6 days. Hope that helps.

Just out of curiosity: has anyone heard from Otterbein yet in 2013? I can’t believe I’m posting this, but since last year they made calls on March 6th, we’re getting antsy 'round here!

No one we know of has heard from them. We are VERY anxiously awaiting news. This is my Ds dream school (mine too if I must say so).

I was hoping that they would post their expected schedule soon. Like they did last year.

We were a late application after walk-in audition at Unifieds. When we called yesterday to make sure all application materials had been received we were advised acceptance decisions were being made in the next week…

Seems like many schools will be notifying students next week.

Agree --dream school – mom and D!! My D auditioned in Dec. so really long wait!

My D attends Otterbein and she said that a couple days of ago that Dr. Stefano said they have picked their freshmen class! I imagine the calls will be coming soon! Best wishes to all.

^Oh dear, I almost wish I hadn’t seen your post, kksmom5! I don’t know which is more nerve-wracking: just waiting for the phone call or fearing it’ll be a rejection. We were on spring break last week, so I fervently hoped the call would come while my S was NOT in school…that way if the news was bad, he could deal with it in private. Hard to believe he’ll be doing anything other than keeping an eye on his phone in class this week! Nevertheless, many thanks for posting so that we know the calls are imminent. Break a leg to everyone!
