Any Night-owls Here?

Hey guys,

I'm at the end of my sophomore year, and I find myself staying up later and later. How late do you guys stay up to do homework and study?

There's several seniros at our school who ahev some pretty strange sleeping habits due to extreme course loads (and our school is competitive...GPA=life for many). I know one guy who sleeps in 30-minute intervals throughout the night and another guy who sleeps from 8PM-midnight (4 hrs!!) and then works up until it's time for school!

What about you guys?

Sleep from 1 to 6 AM. The rest is definitely not spent studying...

usually i go to bed at 1-2 then every couple of months i decide to crash early like around 8. ugh it all leads back to procrastination for me.

2-3am, sometimes I take naps so I start my homework later, so even if I don't have a lot of homework, if I'm tired from the night before I'll still be up late.

10-6, how many AP courses are you guys taking? I am currently only taking 2.

When the time hits ten, I stop working altogether.
Then I go to bed, providing it is a school night. I sometimes read from 10-11, though. It helps put me to sleep. I will stay out sometimes till 2 or 3 AM on Saturday or Friday night though.

I usually go to sleep between 1-2 AM and wake up at 6AM (4-5 hours per night). I require massive amounts of coffee and dew to function properly though.

11-5. Definitely not staying up for homework that's for sure (IB courseload)

I usually sleep from 12-6. Not all of my time is consumed through homework though.

11 pm - 8 am for me, usually. Heh. I get really haphazard sleep cause my legs kick around so much, and it sometimes takes me hours to fall asleep (even when I'm tired) because I can't stop thinking. If I don't get 8 or 9 hours of sleep, though, I feel exhausted the next day.

Junglebrain - what kind of school do you go to that allows you to wake up at 8 AM? Most high schools start between 7 and 8

lol i can wake up at 8 AM (thank god for senior year) and get to school on time--the late bell for my school is 8:30 AM (school ends at 3 PM). It's not bad. I remember though that there's someone on this site who mentioned in a post that he starts school at like 10 AM. Lucky...

Wow your school starts 45 minutes after mine.. you should consider yourself luck too.

Mine starts at 7 40

I usually sleep from 1am - 6:30am. Most of my homework gets done between 9pm - 12pm though. My mind is so much more focused, and I usually take a nap when I get home so I can relax my mind before I do my homework.

This year I'm convinced that I have become nocturnal. More than one all-nighter has been pulled.

Yeah this year for me I've stayed up past 3am more times than I have in the rest of my life combined. The last month or so my usual sleep pattern has been about 2-7am.

"Junglebrain - what kind of school do you go to that allows you to wake up at 8 AM? Most high schools start between 7 and 8"

My school starts at 8:40, which is nice. We get out at 3:18.

For me my body can handle it, aside from the weakened immune system. I can go on 3 hours of sleep repeatedly because my adrenaline will kick in and last through the next school day. Plus this week I've been fine getting 5-6 hours a night. During CMU Pre-College I spent six weeks at 4-7 per night.

diginetgod, are you sure you're not an undead hellfiend desperately seeking acceptance from a human society? cuz i got a loaded shotgun waitin if you say the right answer...

(not weird at all)
