Any nursing students NOT get Lothrop Hall even if if was first choice?

Just wondering if any nursing students who requested Lothrop got placed somewhere else? Doesn't seem like it's one of the more popular dorms (except for those in the medical fields).

lothrop is all singles. i know a lot of kids who were stuck there but wanted towers or sutherland, or vice versa. i’m a 2nd year nursing student and was in towers. if you’re in another dorm, i’d definitely say it’s awesome bc you meet a bunch of other kids with other majors. the downside of not being in lothrop is that you don’t have a single :frowning: at the beginning of the year everyone hates being in lothrop bc they’re all alone or far away from their classes (except nursing students), but then they say they love it bc they have their own room and such.

My daughter actually wants Lothrop. Sounds like most students (with the exception of nursing students) don’t want to be there.

^^^
My daughter wanted a single in Lothrop and the Nursing Living Learning Program. She received both. Her thoughts were that a single would provide a haven from typical college freshman insanity. With all her “planned” ECs (clubs), gen ed reqs and meals, she thinks that she will have ample opportunity to meet and relax with students other than nursing majors. She definitely wanted to avoid the freshman experience in the Towers. Just one opinion.

Aglages: That’s exactly what my daughter is hoping for as well (of course, first we have to get accepted!) Her application is complete and now we are just waiting.

Love to hear how your daughter is doing! She is a freshman, correct?

She will be a freshman in two weeks. Now she is just a compulsive list maker. I can’t imagine how she will fit all the stuff from her multiple packing lists into her dorm…or even why? We live a 30 minute drive from Pitt during non rush hour traffic. What could she possibly forget that she couldn’t get delivered or picked up within a couple of days? I suspect I’ll be going back to Pitt a week or two after school starts to haul half of this stuff home so that she has enough room to actually study or sleep in her dorm room.

If you have any questions about how she is doing, wait a month and send me a PM. I’ll be happy to share her experiences with you.

Ds is assigned to a quad in Lothrop. Is this right? I thought they were all singles and doubles. Hi is assigned to a “66” on the floorplan, looks like it should be a lounge!

Maybe he is in a lounge, they put students in the lounges until a spot in a dorm opens up. They are over-enrolled again so students end up in the lounges and this year, they are putting students in the Wyndham hotel too.
