Any of you ever failed a test or a class?

I know this is CC but I have to ask..have any of you failed a engineering test or a class? I guess I should start. I got a D on my first electromagnetics test but I still working hard to get a B in the class.

Never failed a course, but I have failed a few exams. One of them was an electromagnetics test. Don't you hate that class? :)
I ended up with an A after a nice curve though.

Another one was a biology course requirement. I didn't go to class much for it so I walk into class one day and I see everyone working on something. The TA comes up to me and hands me an exam... I ended up with a 28 on that beast. :) It's nice looking back at these things, thanks for making this thread.

I think everyone in this thread has atleast failed a test haha. Lets see...I've gotten a 50 on a chem test (still pulled a 73% B though haha i hate chem), a 60 on a linear algebra test...umm, that's about it so far though. Never in my life have a failed a course since 4th grade when I got a D in spelling one quarter =P

I did get a 30% on a Heat Transfer test. Ended up with a B in the class.

I did get a 47% on a Dynamics final. Got a C+ in the class.

Failed a hum class. They didn't like my portfolio...

Failed a few tests.

Perhaps didn't like non-complete sentences.

Never failed a class. Failed tests before.

30s on all of my Calc 3 exams, 60s on the final (passed with a C+, half of the class failed)
43 on the 1st Statics test (92 on the final, 2nd highest in class. Got a B for the class)
45 on the 1st Thermo test (90 on the final. One of the only few A's in the class)

Never failed another test after Thermo :)

These are the exams I failed that I still remember:
CS101 51 on final, B- for the class grade
Physics E&M 49 on final, B for class grade
Signal Processing 40 on midterm, can't take this crap anymore, dropped this class
Engr Math2 56 on midterm, B for class grade

I got a 59 on a thermodynamics exam, 68 with a curve. I ended up with a B+ in the class. I failed classes in high school, but not in college.

Do most colleges do a curve? And is it like the regular curve... the highest percentage in the class curves up to a 100% and rest move up accordingly?

I failed a class once--Organic chemistry. It really kills your GPA forever, so always withdraw if you're in real danger of failing a class.

CS173 Discrete Mathematics - 26% on Midterm 2, LOL
I managed to get a B+ though (did well on first and final exam, and moderately high curve)

Got a 46 on the first E&M test. Average was a 62. Prolly gonna end up with a B or so in that class if I study.

I think I got 50 something on the physical chem midterm once. Luckily the curve was pretty crazy though :p

At my school, the curve is entirely up to the instructor of the class. Some of my instructors have had huge curves, and some none at all.

at my school sometimes in my EE classes 80+% of the class gets a F. so have I failed a course yes I have. such as the EM course the average for a C was a 33%.

LlamaNade77 what @ which school does 80+% of a class get an F exactly? You're telling me that 80% of the class has a real live "F" on their transcript?

I just found out that I got 41 my 1st midterm on analog circuit. I am so glad, I thought I would get something between 25 to 35.

In most engineering classes, the class average on tests is below 60% anyways. So I consider failing a test as getting at least 15% below average.

I haven't failed a class yet, but I fail at least one test a quarter... 13% on my electronics midterm (average was 35%)... whoo...

everyone's failed a test in their entire life. Especially in engineering, but there's no really cutoff for tests in engineering because you could pass it with a 10% with the curve.
