rejected from UP , they sent me an altoona acceptance. i probably won't go though.

680v, 670math, 730 writing, 630 ushistory, 670 math 1C
GPA= 3.0 uw 3.7W

=(

Accepted..

unweighted GPA: 3.6, weighted 4.0

SATII: math 720, Chinese 780, US History 650

gh0strec0n, you should have gotten in.

Screw them. I'm sure you'll end up at a school just as good (or even better than) PSU University Park anyway.

ghostrecon, which school in PSU did you apply to?

gh0st... sorry, that just stinks.

gh0strec0n, you can always check out Pitt ;)

Much better school, much better environment, much better everything.

I preferred Pitt's environment. Academically, they're both about the same, but unless I get into Schreyers (which probably won't happen) I'd be happy to go to Pitt honors (which you may qualify for).

ghostrecon, I can't imagine why you didn't get in. It doesn't make sense given that people with lower stats were accepted. My impression is that things are pretty disorganized and arbitrary over in admissions. I'm sure you'll do really well wherever you go, though.

ghostrecon, sorry to hear the news, but i would bet the critical factor for you was the 3.0 GPA. Testing scores make up a small part of the decision algorithm which is predominantly GPA driven. These admissions folks know that the greatest predictor of college success is high school performance, not SAT scores. Not that 3.0 isn't good, but the competition is stiff for UP.
3.0 just doesn't appear to make the cut at UP.

They go by the weighted average, which was 3.7.

Indeed they do go by weighted GPA, and guess what?! 3.7 is about their average, maybe even slightly above...

Is this normal?

I changed my acceptance from Fall 07 [paid fees on 12/12/06] to Summer 07 [on 1/5/07], because I was interested in the summer LEAP program. However, ever since that change, I was not able to log onto eLiving to view my housing contract that I filled out back in December. I keep retrying with my userid/password, but it would not let me log in. On my MyAdmissions account, it says I paid my fees on 1/05/07 [the day my acceptance was changed]. Should I be able to log onto eLiving and my psu email? Both of these don't let me log in.

ok so my app has been complete as of 1/11 ... does it actually take two weeks till i get my letter in the mail.... AHHHh I NEED TO KNOW ASAP!

Generally not. Ours was 4 days post post.

wow when i started this, i had no idea it would be a 10 pager, 10,000+ views. lol. i still havnt heard anything yet from psu

FrankBob has created "Frankenthread".

Every other school where I applied put the decision online when there was a staus change. You're in, you're out, you're in limbo. How hard would that have been for PSU?

Did anyone get accepted for summer session? Are you able to log onto eliving for your housing contracts? I changed my admission to Summer, and I can't log onto eliving anymore. Is this normal?

Everyone is coming back right now and also the room reservation process is moving to the next level (current students trying to get a room next year) and that is on eliving so maybe that is why it is jammed up. Give them a call.
