I was offered a wait-list, and I am just curious about how many people are waitlisted? and how easy or difficult it is to get off the waitlist?
My D was initially put in the regular decision list after applying early. They told her to let them know how strong her interest was and it would help them with their decision. She decided not to address that as she was not sure she would end up accepting, depending on a couple of other schools on the list. She loved Sewanee and it was in her top 5 or 6 maybe, but she wasn’t 100% sure, depending on the other schools.
Well, she got the news last night she is waitlisted. Again, they urged her to let them know how strongly she is interested, but I’m not sure she will say yes. She has already been accepted to 4 schools which were equal to Sewanee.
I have heard that some waitlisted folks in the past were able to attend. Not sure of a percentage or anything. Good luck to you!!!
@shellybean Thank you for telling me about that information. Good luck with your daughter’s decision!
@shellybean and @crackingthesat Sewanee apparently received a substantially higher number of apps this year. The latest figure I’ve seen, in a Provost’s Message on the Sewanee website, is 4400, which would be at least a 34% increase over last year. It may be even higher once the final total is released. Hope someone is able to figure out at some point what accounted for the wave.
@MidwestDad3 that’s insane! But thx for telling me about that. it seems that i gotta find other college options.
any news from wait list?
