The thread title says it all.
I need residential programs.

I say the best way to obtain research positions is to contact professors at a local college/university. That's what I did, and I scored myself a genetics research internship at URI.

That's a great idea, but I'm currently not living in the US, hence the need for residential programs.

And the local colleges here aren't exactly structured too well...

Wait, hold up on the camp advice (if there is any). I have another question:

Would lots of community service look better than an expensive summer camp?

Hey i m looking for something similar to the OP. And I am definitely interested in genetics research (if my name suggests anything ;)) How exactly do u try for an internship,. And could you explain a little more on what an internship in research could mean? (i live right opposite to New york institute of technology too!)

AND To itransient:
Community service always is an honorable thing. But i believe research in a certain field would help u decide something for the future.

Bump Bump Bumppppers

Any suggestions???????????????????? Days are flying past!!

yes someone pleeeeeease answer R-DNA's question, for i am curious as well.

contact your local professors on what u want to do research on....though it seems like it's bit late to do apply to a research program at thispoint.

There was a program at UCONN for 3 weeks, where you can do research with a prof or grad student in a topic that you can choose from (I signed up for the nanobiotech research one). however, the postmark deadline was today. they MIGHT have open spots later. but I've never really heard anything about it. it's probably not too selective (again, conjectures, b/c i seriously don't know), so I guess for someone like me who's never done any work in a lab it's a good experience.
