Those of you who follow this board close enough are probably sick of me posting new threads, but I am really starting to stress out with the rolling admissions process starting soon! So please stick with me...

I was wondering what kind of stats it takes to become a Maximus Scholar at Ohio State? I know that it takes a 32 ACT to even qualify so do you think that a 34 will get me very far in the competition? I won't send in my SAT because it is not as good...1460. Also, will applying super early (think this week) help me to get in? I think that I may consider it if it will help my chances. Thanks so much for the help!

From what I understand, the students who are invited to the Maximus Competition, which is held in February, qualify with a 32 ACT or a 1420 SAT--this was last year, and may change next year. They are also in the top 3% of their class. December 1st is the due date for applications--it does not make a difference if you get it in early, but it would be nice to have it in by early November to make sure they get it. The competition is based solely on essays and the ability to write and convey your ideas, so the rest of your stats don't really come into play. Of course, if you have some really interesting EC's, you may be able to refer to them in your essay, which would look good. Your SAT score is very high also, so there is no need not to submit that along with your ACT. During the two-hour competition, the students are given six different questions and are asked to pick two and write responses to them. Good Luck!
