Hi guys! Think we are all nervous!!!Thank you so much soccersara for telling me things about the campus! I really hope we can all meet in cwm! Good luck(^ ^)

Anyone else going nuts from the waiting? Although I’d rather go nuts longer for good news than the opposite . . .

fyi, last year’s ED group were notified November 30 Remember, the admissions office gives the guideline of “around Dec 1st”, not a definitive date (nor time) for notification. And since this year, Dec 1 falls on a Saturday, I would think it would be an unlikely date for release.

Last year, the first inkling of notification was a tweet from admissions saying that they will begin to release decisions in the next few hours - so check those social networks! ALSO - it took hours…perhaps a full 24 hours if I recall for all to recieve an email. FWIW, the official announcement of the release of decisions was bout 2 pm, and my daughter received her “good news” email around 5pm or so.

Good Luck to each of you!

Of course SherryPeng I hope we will too! and SAME HERE Artemis95. But I’m seriously going crazy! homework is not on my mind, but of course it has to get done :P

Momneedsguidance- thank you SO much for the information I really appreciate it!!! I really hope we are lucky enough to hear on friday I think I may get a twitter just to follow admissions haha.

Oh. my. gosh. the fact that we hear sometime this week is SO SCARY it all feels real all of a sudden. oh my goodness. Okay I’ll stop burdening you all with my freaking out my family doesn’t understand why I’m going so crazy-they’re getting annoyed haha. Another one of my friends is hearing back really soon too for another ED school and is also freaking out so we do together

Guys.check out the comments in Admit it! blog. It seems like it is going to be extended. Admit it! said we may not receive the notification this Friday. It means another torturing weekend.Oh my God.

hey guys! I’m not actually a 2017 ED candidate, but I applied to transfer for the spring. Hopefully I will be in Williamsburg soon too! I’m so excited/nervous for decisions to come out. good luck everyone :)

@SherryPeng Ahh…I understand why but . Oh well. I guess if I was given those lovely 3-4 extra days to perfect my essays, I can wait another 3-4 days.

Did anyone else use those extra days because of Sandy or were you a lot more productive than me and had already turned in your applications? :)

@Spiral15 Well I did not use the extra days because I am an international student so I didn’t even know deadline was extended before I submit my application… We are all going to suffer another weekend. Good luck everybody.(^ ^)

so! on the hopefully never-gonna-happen chance of if you get rolled over to the regular admissions pool, where else do you think y’all will apply?
i honestly haven’t opened up any other applications yet. i’m hoping if i put all my eggs in one basket for now it may bring me good luck? haha

by the way… hello to everyone who has joined the thread since i posted on here a while back! :)

and i turned my application in at the last second before the original deadline because i didn’t know it got extended. oh well. i would have just spent those days over editing my essays anyway. D:

@Peguin25 oh yayy What year are you/where are you transferring from? good luck and hope to see you on campus next year!!

I actually turned in my application on October 11th haha. I finished it early because I was really excited, and just thought I’d over think it if I waited to turn it in!

Is the deadline definitely being extended? I still have a shred of hope we will hear friday :)

And applications I hope to never complete: (If W&M doesn’t work out) Tufts, Umass, Bates, Bowdoin, Case Western, Brown, Hamilton, Colgate, Kenyon… maybe a couple more. haven’t really given it enough thought yet :P

I also submitted Wisconsin Madison and University of Virginia…But Of course William Mary is my dream school. Personally I think if there are still no news from the Admission office tomorrow, the deadline is definitely extended…

Oh gosh, yeah. I forgot about being deferred… Does anybody know if the statistics change if you’re deferred from ED? Since you weren’t just not accepted, do they see that if you’re put in the regular pool?

Aaand, hoping that never happens, but if it does I’m probably applying to UVA, Hamilton, Richmond, Berkeley, Kenyon, and maybe George Mason because of in-state. Same, sara (or soccer…or soccersara ) I haven’t given it too much thought. WM is where I really want to go more than anywhere else, although I’m sure that’s everyone here. :D

I really don’t want to be deferred but better than rejected I guess! That’s a great question, Spiral.

Spiral- everyone can call me Sara, that is indeed my name haha. Believe it or not, I don’t even play soccer But Spiral, we have some list overlap!! hopefully we’ll both end up at W&M, but if not maybe both at hamliton or kenyon!

If they don’t come out friday, do you guys think monday will be the day?

I guess we have some of the same wishes when looking at schools. And yes, definitely! That will be the optimal situation, to both end up at W&M.

I was also wondering, if someone gets rejected, do they get an email telling them so or just no acceptance email?

And, I’d imagine they’d probably come out around Monday since that’ll be the 3rd of December already. We had until Monday the 5th of November to turn things in so it’ll be almost a month. fingers crossed

Admit it! said they will release the decision even it is during weekend.I just hope that decisions come out on Sunday!!It really killing me.(@_@)

To answer some questions if you are deferred you are reviewed again during regular decision and sent another decision notice in April. However it’s a very small number of deferred students who are eventually admitted so we encourage deferred students to whole-heartedly pursue other options.

Also, all students regardless of decision (admit, defer, deny) will get an email when decisions are released.

And @sherrypeng, just to clear up some confusion, we will send decisions out this weekend if we feel we are ready to do so but we don’t yet know what day everything will be ready to be released. It could be this weekend it could not be. Still lots of pieces of this puzzle we are working on.

@W&M Admission Thank you for answering so many similar question! We really appreciate it!

Why are so few deferred students ultimately accepted? Aren’t they all technically qualified for the school, and that’s why they’re deferred rather than rejected? Just wondering!
