If so, Congrats to you Class of 2007 1/2 :]

why do some people graduate in December in the first place? Were they originally spring admits who had to stay an extra semester to get all their credits?

"why do some people graduate in December in the first place? Were they originally spring admits who had to stay an extra semester to get all their credits?"

Maybe. Or they are people who have finished all the requirements for graduation and don't want to pay tuition for an extra semester. It could be a number of things.

As a spring transfer admit, I'd like to point out that I'm perfectly on track to graduate this spring, with three semesters at Berkeley.

But yeah: maybe it was that. Or maybe they've been here four years and decided to stay a bit longer -- change of major? Just liked being here? Needed the extra time? Or maybe they finished early.

I might be graduating December '08 rather than this December (or May '09 even) because of the way schedules work. It wouldn't have anything to do with my status as a spring transfer.

Congratulations, anyway, pinkearmufs!

Thanks undecided.

And yes, BlueElmo, it's different for everyone. Some graduate early, others late for various usually legitimate reasons. For me, it was my choice to graduate early within 2.5 years because I'm out of state and wanted to save money.

But in general, at least of the spring admits that I know, none of them have been delayed by entering a semester later.

My dentist's niece is graduating from Cal this December, so YES! And congratulations!
