Any other performers?

I've been singing for 9 years and doing Musical Theater for 7. I was the Understudy in my school's musical last year and I'll hopefully manage a lead this year. Anyone else addicted to the stage like me?

I hate performing in front of other people; sorry. Good luck getting that lead though!!!

Thanks! :)

We're doing Fiddler on the Roof this year, and apparently my friends have all decided I'm going to be the Matchmaker. XD

theatre kid right here.

You already know what you're doing this year?
We don't get to find out until January...

But no stage for me- I'm a techie.

I don't do anything musical, but I love acting!
I've pretty much grown up performing shakespeare.

Technically we're not supposed to know.

But I have lots of friends who are close with our Drama Teacher who's also the director, so once one of them knows it spreads like wildfire.

Our drama teacher doesn't even know yet (and she's the director).

Unless she's just really good at lying to us, which I don't think is the case.

XD

See there's a meeting that takes place at our school every summer between the drama teacher (director), the choir teacher, the orchestra conductor and the ASB director. They sit down and talk about what they want to do vs. what they can afford to do.

So yeah, they know what we're doing by September but the majority doesn't find out 'til about November. 'Cept for those who are on the "inside" :)

We're doing a comedy for our fall play this year, but we haven't picked which yet. I have to read through a second option that our director really likes, and she said she'd read through the first option that I really like. :P

AND we're doing Pirates of Penzance in the community theater group I'm in, which should be amazing. =)

we know some of our shows (the ones that juniors apply to direct as seniors and a few others) but not the big shakespeare or the big musical. i've heard grease and anything goes through the grapevine...

Oh man.

If they do Grease, run in the other direction.

We learned the hard way this year that if you do a musical that is known for a version which isn't the Broadway version, and you DO the broadway version, you'll be disappointed with the result. (We tried to do Cinderella, and our school is known for its fantabulous Spring Musicals, and we were just...UGH.)

Once a year I have to talk in front of around 1,000 people who decide if my company lives or dies.

Does that count?

.
..

..Want to trade?

XD

I actually love being up in front of people. Singing, public speaking, you name it.

I get nervous before, but once I'm actually doing whatever I'm there to do I love it.

i always force myself to perform when possible, not because i am addicted to performing, but i am addicted to making myself do something i am so frightened of. doesn't make much sense, but whatever. i did all my middle school plays (usually with big supporting roles, but never lead, considering they were always musicals and i can't sing all too well), but i haven't been able to do any in highschool yet because i always have a conflict in my schedule. but i do do some minor acting things. this year its drama tech for me, which i'd rather do than performing anyway because i am obsessed with building things, plus i don't have to go through that frantic stage fright, yet i still get to be a part of the performance.

break a leg on all your plays this year!

I love musical theater! :-D
I don't know what we're doing yet this year, but hopefully we'll find out soon. I liked freshman year best--Anything Goes. The next two years were The Pajama Game and South Pacific...they were ok. We better do something amazing this year!

I play piano in front of some people a few times a year. Some people even say I'm good.

HGFM, you post waaaaaaaaaaaay too much on here. 20 posts a day is not good for your sanity. Get outside and go for a walk or something.

...

I walk/run 2 miles every day.

I've played sax for 5 years now. I like doing it in a group, but I HATE AUDITIONING. I NEVER play my best when I'm auditioning. It's why I didn't make all-state.
