I wanted to meet some other accepted Psychology major students because everyone seems to be a business, english, or engineering major haha. Also if you were accepted under a major in Psychology, are you actually attending in the fall?! Lolol sorry I'm bored and thought I would meet some people who I might see in the fall under the same major as me! =)

i’m a psych major!!!
and yesss, i’m pretty sure i’ll be attending…i’m still waiting on BU though!

haha I was waiting on BU too. AND I GOT ACCEPTED! I am so happy I am definitely going to BU, Northeastern’s nice, but BU is where its at! You should go to BU too!

Wow this is a weird coincidence. I just got accepted to BU as well hahaha. Yeah my first choice was BU so I will be going there in the Fall! Agreed too, Northeastern’s a good school. However BU is where everything is, the parties, the people, the excitement, and a better education as well.

Haha.

“However BU is where everything is, the parties, the people, the excitement, and a better education as well.”

I <3 BU Fanboys :D

lol. NEU’s acceptance rate is 34%. BUs is 54%. problem?
PS. I go to NU and we go to BU parties all the time. its pretty easy to walk there. “better education”? really now… i didn’t know that…

While I can’t replicate them, there are many people with very convincing arguments as to why to choose Northeastern over BU for academics. While among those arguing for either side you’ll always find fanboys, there are considerably more people today who would put their money on Northeastern over BU than would have ten, or even five, years ago. There is a reason that Northeastern received more applicants than BU this year, and its definitely not cost or ease of admission- Northeastern is more expensive and more selective.

Additionally, a short anecdote. Until recently (again, 5-10 years ago), Northeastern was commonly used as a safety school for students applying to BU, something that simply doesn’t make sense anymore- the scores of admitted students were virtually identical in 2008-2009, and I believe Northeastern’s scores have continued to trend upwards. However, when a friend of mine was meeting with her counselor to discuss her college decisions, (this would have been about a year ago, as she is finishing her freshman year now), the counselor was adamant that Northeastern was just a safety school- he didn’t understand that the institution’s reputation was drastically different. In any case, I could see similar biases influencing other purveyors of advice- Northeastern is a different school, with a very different student body than it was five years ago, but not everyone has necessarily realized this.
