Any other rising 8th graders?

I have a feeling most are HS class of '17 or older...

I’m in the class of 2014 and I kind of wish I were in your shoes. There’s a lot of stuff on my resume I wish I could go back and change.

I swear people are coming on CC earlier and earlier.

Have you seen [Prep School Admissions - College Confidential](Prep School Admissions - College Confidential Forums) ? It’s like a junior version of the rest of the site.

Yeah I have. Anyways, I’m sure there are plenty of rising 8th graders on CC.

Psh. I told my brother he should join. He’s class of '17. And he said “Who joins a college help site freshman year? What are they talking about anyway? Their schedules?”

^ Exactly.

Don’t come back until you’re scheduling classes.

If I had come here as a freshman, I would have figured out what ECs to do and actually committed myself to stuff in ninth grade. In reality, I never realized that colleges actually cared about them until junior year, and I didn’t have any motivation to do things outside of school because of my shyness.

If I had come here as a freshman, I would’ve stressed out about every little thing.

Get good grades in hard classes, and do ECs that you like.

Class dismissed.

I just made an account to post one topic, I might pop in once in a while, but not daily…

This is kinda excessive. Just wait until you’re a rising freshman to come here…

Or maybe even later than that…

This thread makes me depressed.

Wrong thread. Oops

I’m class of '17. In my opinion (in agreement with many others), there isn’t ANY reason for you to be on here until you are choosing classes for freshman year.

Just work hard in 8th grade and have fun doing what you love :D

escape while you still can

There is nothing to learn here when you’re in middle school. Take the hardest classes if you qualify in MS - my middle school let me take 6 classes that qualified for HS credit but it wasn’t some kind of crazy effort as many kids did that. Make friends with people, read lots of books (I promise you’ll never have that much free time ever again), try lots of activities and just have fun.

Develop good study habits if you can but really, relax.

I only came on this site at the end of Sophomore year.

Don’t worry about colleges now and DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, take middle school too seriously. I spent a LOT of time trying to get perfectly straight A+s. I really wish I didn’t and I tried to have more fun. So have fun! :)

oh my god middle school. Lol. enjoy the next 5 years OP, they suuuuuuuuuck. An interminable purgatory of waiting, anxiety, and boredom. With a heaping, heaping dash of awkwardness mixed in.

I don’t understand why I automatically study a lot and have not enjoyed middle school…
