I'm taking 6 this year, and I am finding it really hard to care knowing that most of the subjects I'm taking will not a) give me any college credit and b) place me out of any courses I particularly care to place out of.

Anyone else feel this way now that we're all going to college?

as a freshman, I am taking 4 ap classes. So stop complaining and do your best you lazy bum. P.S., I have heard of colleges withdrawing acceptances because of bad senior years.

Yes and no. Except that all of my courses will give me credit and it’d be nice to get out of all of my intro Bio courses. If I get a 4 on Lit (thanks to a 5 last year on Lang) I will not have to take English ever again in college! Which is great because, though I love English, it is very very time-consuming (writing papers etc.) Micro…well…I could care less about that. The same with Government thanks to a government credit I already have from a polisci course at a CC.
@kablam - see how you feel by the end of senior year. The whole college process is rather taxing both mentally and emotionally.
And yes, colleges will rescind applications for bad grades on a TRANSCRIPT. But, keep in mind that grade reports for AP exams do not come out until late July for some parts of the country.

Well, I already have 9 ap credits, so I’m pretty much set. And most of the ones this year aren’t going to get me anywhere (like us govt, environmental, and the two english ones) because the school I’m going to (Duke) doesn’t offer placement for those.

I guess the only one that really matters is CalcBC. And physics possibly, but not really because I wouldn’t ever want to place out of physics.

And also, colleges rescind for bad grades, not bad ap scores.

Edit: haha, yes Vertigo! You understand me. : )

I already have 18 credit hours, soon to be 34 after this year’s APs. That is enough credits for sophomore standing at my university. A lot of those have allowed me to pass out of general education requirements, and a few courses that go toward my major. As much as I don’t care about senior year and am ready to just get on to college, I am willing to stick it out for just another couple weeks to maximize my AP grades and get the credits that I deserve. These credits save me a lot of money and time later, so I am more than willing to make the great sacrifices of time and energy to do the studying necessary to obtain them.

I care about getting at least a 4 on AB, don’t really care too much about Gov but I should do well, and I will rape APES. It should buy the sexual assault kit and hire a lawyer now.

^exactly how I feel.

Like I’m going to do well, but I don’t have the intense and fervent need to study all night long like I did last year, haha.

Case in point: I’m on CC and FB right now when I could be studying.

Haha exactly, and I just found out Gov is tomorrow on Friday, and I took that class my first semester. It will be …interesting.

@kablam

wow that was really unnececary. If you want to be a stupid freshman and take 4 ap’s then do it. But remember that the OP is a senior. You might not understand this as a freshman, but when you get into senior year theres something called senioritis.
Plus OP’s already in college. OP wont get rescinded for bad AP test grades, just for bad grades overall

For me, the only reason why I still about school is APs. Senioritis is a **. I just want to pass these tests and finally stop giving a * about school. =D

Kablam: good job freshie on your 4 ap’s. and again, school will grow weary by your senior year. however at your rate, you might not have that many you can take. It’s called senioritis. once you get in, many dont’ feel the urge to pass.

and colleges will only rescind you for disciplinary/criminal reasons, or Grades. AP tests don’t matter.

haha Kablam, you silly goose~ your post made me laugh. I am one of those lazy bums you speak of It’s okay though, I don’t take it as an insult… just a testament to your inexperience in the high school life. Also, AP exam scores don’t come out till June, so by then college admissions processes would be a little too far along for too much rescinding to happen.
