I just wanted to ask....is anyone coming to University of California , Davis , from Pakistan? I'm going there in September 2012 , for fall semester... I'd be an Under-graduate student there...

So if you are coming there...let me know...

haha I was checking if you were really a Pakistani … Or yar I only speak Urdu at home… I speak English only when I need to…Like talking with some American born girl/guy etc … Actually , I know almost 4 to 5 languages…and I’ve found English to be least ‘attractive’ among all of them… I would prefer speaking ‘Saraiki’ rather than English…but qismat ka bura haal… I came to America and now I HAVE TO speak English …Anyways , what is your major? where do you live? Did you take your Math placement yet?

well now you know what languages do you know? what part of Pakistan are you from? I’ll be majoring in biology, how about you?. And I live in zameen se ooper and aasman k neeche ← kabhi suna hai? Oh and yea I took my math placement exam couple weeks ago.

Well I know Urdu , Hindi , Punjabi , Saraiki , English …couple of lines of Arabic haha… tu tum koi bird ho jo zameen se upper or aasmaan se neechay rehta hai ? hehe…or yar mera major Aerospace Engineering hai…What Math you got? mein ne abhi abhi apna test diya hai… pata nahi kaisa hua hai I couldn’t even answer many questions haha…

In Pakistan , I used to live in Lahore , the nawakot , then Khanpur , and then Rahim Yar Khan haha…My father was in government service so transfers to roz ka hi kaam tha lol…But yeah…you can say that I’m from Rahim Yar Khan because that is where I lived before coming to the States…and wbu? tum kahan say ho? And did you visit Pakistan in last 4 years or no?

oo nice! you grew up learning saraiki? say something in saraiki! haha nai casper hoon I got Mat21A…kismat achi thi us din isi liye do chaar sawal aa gaye warna math zara bhi nai achi lagti…good luck for your result mein Gujranwala se hoon…and unfortunately no I’ve not gone back to visit yet…will do so soon. And you? you must miss it a lot right?

Yup! I used to live in Khanpur…All the kids there were Saraiki speaking …so when I played with them , I learned it. Though I still have my “punjabi” accent lol… and something in Saraiki? mmm mein teku gath maraysan hor teku pata v kainai lag c ( It means , I’ll slap you hard and you don’t even know! …This is my fav. dialogue in Saraiki…haha) …

And I also didn’t go to Pakistan is last 2 years and OH YES! OH YESSS! I miss Pakistan ALOTTTT!!! Pata nahi yahan kyun aaa gaya mein :@ …Zindagi hi kharab ho gayi sari…guess what? I actually never even wanted to come to U.S.A…but I had to bcoz my family came…but after coming here…and going to highschool …the situation became even worse… Honestly… yahan log bht “dumb” hain yarr!!! seriously! specially in highschool… lol

Hbu? Do you like being here? Did you miss Pakistan when you came here?

Aah saraiki is very similar to urdu huh? some of the words were recognizable…you speak punjabi frequently ya bas kabhi kabhi? And hahaha you sound so pained…itni achi opportunity mili hai tumhein studies k liye to shukar manao. Now that you’re out of high school you’ll like it here Yea i like it here…and yes! when i first came here i just wanted to go back so bad coz everything was like freaking new! How was your experience when you got here? Oh and Ramzan mubarak :)

Saraiki is kinda similar to Punjabi…but not really…mein ne tumhain translation bata di , nahi tu tumhain pata nahi lagna tha k What I was saying…lol…and yes dude …I AM pained…In Pakistan , 10th -12th grade , your life is like HEAVEN…you enjoy soooo much…I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my 10th grade…so during my PRIME years…my parents moved me 15000 miles away from Pakistan Ab pain to hoga hi na …lol…

And yeah , hope Davis goes well for me … and My experience was not so good…Highschool seemed pretty easy academically but people were ■■■■■■■■…Specially the “Freshman” classes…mjhay aik do classes Freshman k sath day di gayin cuz I had to complete my previous classes like World Geography etc…bs naa poocho lol…And Ramazan Mubarak to you too…Are you fasting?

And oh yeah … I can speak Punjabi pretty fluently just as Urdu…but at home…I speak Urdu only most of the times…

ha ha g nahi! ‘mein teku’ was hella easy to understand…thats right i know my saraiki And yea i can understand how you feel but you’ll meet idk thousands of ppl in Davis and none of them are gonna be dumb. Were there any pakis at your high school? Also, yes i’m fasting.

Well there were very few Pakis in my highschool… One guy came after me but he went to NewYork then …but anyways…and hey are coming on orientation on 8th August? If yes , then what is the case with Aggie Card? I uploaded my photo but I don’t have any card…will we get our Aggie card from Davis on Orientation day or what?
