ANy PLME accecptances?

so are there any and please list ur stats

i heard plme was mad selective this year. someone at my school told me there were over 3000 applications!

i got into plme
2300 sat, 800 x2 sat ii's, 4.0 gpa, mostly research ec

bumpppppppp

My son got in and planning to do PLME. He spent 2 summers at Brown and loves it there. Turning down Yale. Very similar stats to BingCold.

as much as it pains me, i've decided to turn down PLME for harvard

Mind if i ask why, bingcold?

My friend got in, but he's ridiculous.

thequaker, after giving it careful thought, i opted for harvard because i doubt there'll be another place that can prepare me as well for med school as harvard can. very few things in life are guaranteed, and while i'm lucky to have that opportunity at brown, i feel like i'm limiting myself to brown and its med school, when i can go to harvard, have an experience of a lifetime, and work hard like i did in high school to apply for med school. sure, it's more risky in terms of med school, but i think harvard can open up more doors for myself.

There were quite a couple of people on CC who applied RD to PLME, and some looked like they were pretty likely to get in, but so far haven't heard from them yet. They might be too busy celebrating to log into CC.

i know someone who got into PLME but i think he's going to MIT instead. One thing I'm wondering about; the waitlist FAQ Brown sent out said that no one would be admitted to PLME from the waitlist. Are they just so good at predicting yields from PLME that they don't need to fill spots that people turned down???

I think they intentionally over admit by a lot, knowing that their candidates have other great options. I know my son is choosing between PLME, Yale and Duke. I think I read that last year they accepted 88 and enrolled 48 - not sure where I saw that.

And you have to take into account that PLME is basically an 8-year program. Any space left in the Med school could be easily filled by those that will be applying independently to Brown Med School..

brown med actually don't really take that many outside apps, the majority of its med school's filled b/plme's.

not anymore
