Any positive experiences with online foreign language classes?

I'm investigating online French classes, from French 3 to AP or online foreign language classes in general, to see if anyone has found a provider of these classes that they are actually happy with.

Most people I've talked to said that these classes were not a particularly good experience.

I'm not looking for experiences with other kinds of online classes (We've had good experiences). Or just a list of providers (I can find them, I've posted them). I'm looking for people who've actually used these classes and have had positive experiences to report.

Some years ago someone praised Elycee. Though their web site is still "up", they seem to be out of business, their phone has been disconnected and none of the scripts that interact with PHP on their websites work.

Thanks in advance.

D had a very positive experience using Virtual Virginia for AP French. Their catalog lists French I & II and then jumps right to AP French so not sure if it would offer what you needed. It is possible to enroll in their courses even if you do not live in Virginia. She had an excellent instructor; regular conversational practice and online meetings. Did quite well on the exam.
