well, i am in a bad situation because they're only going to let me in if they have room, and Kines at UIUC is already closed, but I've got the manual review thing going. a couple days ago as soon as my transcript arrived and they confirmed that I would only have 37 hours, they closed my application. after i got myself together, i called them up in desperation. thank goodness the lady was nice, she told me to send them a special petition, and now the app is back to current.

this is just ridiculous, though, that UIUC is putting me through all this greif! i just want to go there so badly and cant wait any longer. maybe today will be the day...

if i dont get into UIUC, I'll be stuck at UIC, even though I havent applied yet (dont want to waste $40+transcript/act score if i dont have to.)

just thought i'd share. anyone else having a similar problem?

i got in to uiuc as a transfer student from a junior college with a 3.17 GPA and no associates degree...so either my juco was top notch in illinois or i wrote a killer essay.

when i got my "get ready letter," i was in disbelief for 2 months! even now when i attend classes at uiuc now, i feel like they must've mistaken someone elses gpa with mine and that i will be getting called soon to let know that i need to get the hell outta here and don't deserve to go here.

i look at my i-card and stare in disbelief...how can this possibly be true? is this a dream? i ask these question to myself day and night.

amazing...im really happy for you! i am still waiting paitently to see what happens. if i get in though, i can definitely imagine the disbelief you feel! man, i want this so bad! more than anything

you'll definitely get in man. i have no doubt whatsoever.

Most transfer students are considered after sophomore year, so freshmen applicants are considered only if space is available. A 3.7 is plenty enough to get into UIUC, but perhaps not as a freshman.

I got in to UIUC today.. I see an "Admit" as decision on my online application summary.. I applied as a freshman with less than 12 transferable credits.. I am continuing my credit classes.. By fall, I'll have more than 12 hours.. lets see if they transfer them.. SAT - 1290.. GPA 4.0 but didn't send transcript yet..! Good luck!

congrats..............................................
