does anyone know if there are any programs at harvard for students to optimize the period of time they have after gaining admissions and before entering college? ;)

You can delay starting college for an extra year after your acceptance if you request it.

Harvard has several pre-frosh programs that take place the week before the regular freshman week begins. There is FUP (Freshman Urban Program) - FAP (Freshman Arts Program) and FOP (Freshman Outdoor Program as well as the opportunity to work on dorm crew and earn some money before school begins. All are highly recommended and a great way to meet some fellow freshmen in a more intimate setting before everyone else arrives.

There's also prefrosh weekend in April (around April 20th, give or take). It's always lots of fun, for both the prefrosh and the students that host them.

thanks for the replies guys.

one follow up: does anyone know if there is anything for international students? like, in my country, students graduate from high school in March, so they basically have five free months to play with.

twinmom forgot FIP (Freshman International Program). So yeah, there's something for everyone!

Thanks Hotpiece. I didn't know about that one!

My daughter has been an FOP guide for each of the past two years, and she loves it. She thinks it's a great program for incoming frosh.
