Hey everyone! I'm Rachel and I just got my second letter from USC saying I was a finalist for the Presidential Scholarship (half-tuition, not the full-tuition Trustee one).

I was just posting something similar to the Trustee Scholarship Finalist thread, basically, what are ur stats, what school were u accepted to, is USC ur first choice and what Explore USC weekend are u planning on attending. Just hoping to get to know you all!

my stats: 1420/750/750/730/710, Rank 3/171, 3.99 UW GPA 4.5 W GPA
ECs: water polo, JSA/politics, swimming, journalism (main ones)

i was accepted to the Annenberg School of Communication

USC is about my second choice because Georgetown (accepted early action to the SFS) and Brown (still waiting to even hear they're received my app!!) are tied for first, but if I get a scholarship it certainly is convincing because its really close to home...

oh, and i'm planning on attending the first Presidential Explore USC weekend, March 3-4

i was. 1500/700/800/710/700 rank 4/522.. 4.2 W 3.97 UW, accpted also for Annenberg School of Communcation for Print journalism, but im not attending USC, I got accepted ED to my first choice school, so more oppurtinty for someone else to get the scholorhship :p Good luck.

i got the presidential scholarship too! Can we get multiple scholarships? like can one person be a finalist for both the trustee and presidential scholarship or does one applicant get only one scholarship?

I think I am going to be a Presidential Scholarship finalist as well. I have similar stats to the first poster: 1410 SAT (710V, 700M); 4.0 UW GPA, 4.6 W, 8/423 rank, ec's for newspaper, varsity softball, varsity golf, acting, film, and student government to name a few.

I was accepted to Annenberg for Broadcast Journalism and am still waiting to hear from school of cinema-tv. USC is my first choice, but Northwestern is a close second. :)

And do you guys think that the Trustee scholarship people were mostly those who received their scholarship first and the Presidential received theirs a little later?

Hey, I'm also a finalist for the Presidential scholarship.
1470 (800 V, 670 M), 770/770/690, 3.57 UW, 4.42 W, no rank. My ECs are mostly theatre related (tech, not acting). I still have to interview for the School of Theatre, so I'm into the university only so far. As for choices...we'll see. There're too many factors for me to be able to rank.
I'm going to the March 7-8 Explore USC; is anyone else going then?

I am going to the first session, March 3-4. Is anyone else going then? I am so excited! I thought that there was NO WAY I would qualify, but I am REALLY happy that I did.

I'm kind of nervous though, did you see that there is going to be a "panel" of 3 different judges for the interview? Oh well, I can handle it...I do theater, afterall.

Yeah, got invited for the presidential scholarship interview thing today. I was really kinda hoping for the trustee's one but, hey thats ok. is anyone who got an invitation for a presidential scholarship thinking about not even going for the interview because, well, im not sure its even worth it for me...I'd have to pay half the airfare since im out of state, I'd have to miss school which kills because of the make up work, and id only have the possibilty of getting half tuition, which leaves a lot leftover. Plus, im almost positive that im not going to go there... there's no chance of getting the pres scholarship and another one, is there? I dunno, just wondering if anyone was in the same boat as me

dlindhol- by three dates, i meant three sessions. Sorry for the bad wording! :P

i'm going to the second session, the same as you, themockery! No one else I know from my school is going on that day, so I'll be traveling by myself... eek.

Raindrops, glad to hear someone else is going to that session! Where in CA are you from?
I'm also travelling by myself, but my sister goes to college in Pasadena, so at least I have a ride to the campus, even if I have to get there a couple of hours early...

stats: 1500, 770, 740, 760 gpa 4.1W top4% (no rank)
I got in for Chemistry major, hoping to get into their pharmacy program

little john - yeah, I have the same problem. My parents said they won't be able to afford it without the full scholarship so i'm not even sure if I should bother going to the interview....
