If you have gone, what did you think of it?
How different is it from the fall and spring semesters?
How many students go and are they all incoming freshmen?
Are some places around campus closed...does it feel vacant?
Is there still social life outside of class?

Any input would be nice, even if you haven't gone but know anything about it! Thanks!

I attended Penn State and lived a good chunk of my life there besides. Summer sees a drastically reduced attendence, but not at all limited to freshmen - a fair number of upperclassmen are there to fill in needed classes or participate in special summer opportunities, and grad students are there year round. Most places on and around campus remain open, but many places run on reduced hours and the normally overstuffed feel of the place does feel a little empty. There is still a social life - less abundent, but more energetic. Over the summer there is also Arts Fest, which draws huge numbers of students and alums back to party.

Hope that helps!

That does help! Thank you

does anyone else know anything?

Summer was awesome. At the time I thought there were a ton of people there, that is until fall came and there was about a million more people around lol. A few thousand go during the summer as far as I remember. Mostly freshmen, but there were RA’s and LEAP mentors who were all upperclassmen. Besides South/Pollock (where everyone lives) the other dorm areas were empty. Tons of social life still, partied just as much in the summer as I do now. Met a lot of friends that I still am friends with now that I would have never met if we didn’t do summer together. I suggest doing it. You’ll see though once fall comes that summer session was really small.

Wow thank you! It definitely sounds like something worthwhile that I am interested in! Only thing is the extra expenses. Do you remember about how much it was… or is there somewhere on the website that has the costs?
