each of your prereq's, individually, must be at least 80% final

ok good, it would be kinda harsh to say ur finals must also be more than 80.
At my school for some APs, that's really hard to do.

so the letter says that you have to maintain an 80% average to keep your acceptance offer?

yes, for the commerce program.
For others it is 75%.

did u apply?

yup, I've been accepted to the faculty of management. I see you've also applied to Queen's? What about Ivey?

I've never evn heard of Ivey until yesterday.

re: your original question, FWIW

http://www.bschool.com/canadian.html

1 commerce program in Canada has been known to be Queen's.. i have a couple of friends there who finished 2nd and 3rd yrs, and they're already being recruited.. as well, they have amazing teachers and other counselors who help out with job applications and resumes. i've gone to a business leadership program at queen's called QLEAD, and i can definitely tell you that Queen's is the place to go (not that U of T or york is anywhere that far, but queen's has just been known to be better in commerce and it seems like all of the students i know who are interested in commerce have queen's as their first choice.)

actually schulich (york) and richard ivey (western) are on par with queen's...queen's isnt top...infact no of them are as far as i know

but the 3 programs are definfinately the top 3 in canada for sure...but its very difficult to seperate between the 3...

so why are you going to McGill? did Montreal outweigh the fact that McGill's commerce doesn't quite make it in the top 3?

Honestly, I think which ever university you pick will be fine. They are all top schools so you really can't go wrong. Thats just my opinion! Go where you will enjoy it the most!

:-)

i am going to mcgill because i didnt like schulich (commuter school), richard ivez was too expensive and there is no way i would survive queen's and kingston for 4 years...
i dont think there is big difference between mcgill and queen's business...its stupid just to go to a college because its ranked high anyway

hmmm...undergrad...business...really... don't use MBA rankings.

and people, it's undergrad! all that really matters in undergrad is the name of your school honestly. as long it's not northern hicktown state university i think you'll be fine :-P

Yep. Those are MBA ranks. It's a completely different ballpark. For instance, in the US MBA ranks, Harvard was like 9 below Northwestern which was 1. I have no idea how they do them, but it doesn't really matter.

McGill is an awesome school to do business in. They have a very impressive list of companies if anyone bothered to check it, though I am going to have to go to the career offices myself to confirm it. I haven't seen anywhere that Goldman Sachs recruits directly from McGill.

Undergrad is all about recruitment and name.

good. I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one who made the decision to go to McGill despite all the rankings (MBA or not) and talk of which schools were the best. I'm very happy with my decision and am more excited than ever for the end of August to roll around. I just realized how much packing I had to do...my room's a mess.
