@silvercrystal: It’s including AP/IB credits.

is 1100 watts too much over the 600 watt limit for microwaves? hahahaa. there’s one on sale where i live…and it’s cheaper than the lower wattage ones…and a better brand.

I’m a warren engineer and got a late enrollment time. I ended up getting math20B, and waitlisted for all my other classes. (ECE15 #57, Chem6A #17, WCWP10A #3). I heard they were going to open up more seats for ECE15 and Chem6A so i’m hoping ill get into those. The problem is i dont think i’ll get into WCWP10A since its a required class and people dont usually drop it.

So now i need to know what to replace that class with. If i want to get ahead on my lower division course, the only options i have is ECE25 (currently full with people on waitlist as well) or Phys2A (full as well).

Another option is to start my GE classes. Since I’m an engineer, i do area studies. I plan to do Econ for my Social Science AS and i am exempt from Econ1 so i only need to do two upper division Econ courses, which i am unable to take at this moment i believe. So for my Humanities and Fine Arts AS, i wanted to do Phil27 as my lower division course so it can also fulfill my Ethics and Society GE at the same time. However, i can’t take Phil27 unless i finish WCWP10A-B, so that’s not an option.

So my problem is i have no clue what to do. I don’t think i’ll get into WCWP10A and i have no other class i need to take. I prefer to have 16 units as well. What should i do?

what’s our log-in for WebCT? I can’t get in and I’ve tried several username/pw combos. isn’t it our email username and password? and yes I qualify to use WebCT.

On the academic calender, the fall quarter ends on Saturday Dec. 11, and Christmas break starts on the Dec. 23. What happens in between? When is the earliest day freshman can return home?

I reserved my textbooks using UCSD’s textbook reservation service. Can I get a better price from other vendors, or does UCSD usually have the best price for used books?

I believe once your finals are over and/or by the 11th, they say we have to leave campus. lol So we’re off from the 11th (or maybe earlier if your finals are done I think…) till school starts in early January.

I can’t help you with this unfortunately, although I would expect that other sites might be better with prices than the school itself but idk

thanks! That’s a really long winter break.

For microwaves, do the watt limits matter a lot? I just bought a microwave that is 800 watts but I read that the limit is 500-600. Do they really check, or will I be okay?

Leave as soon as your last final is over! and no, they don’t check microwaves

DON’T use textbook reservation service, every upperclassman and CC veteran will agree that it’s overpriced and a total ripoff. Try half.com. or do a search, there have been loads of good book websites listed recently

Textbook question: I’m wait listed for 3 of the four classes I signed up for. Do I have to wait until I get off the wait list to buy the books? Because then I’d probably have to buy them from the bookstore since I’d have run out of time to order online?

Also, I’m wait list spot 10 on chem. Someone told me that they will let me in because the chem department promised spots to the first 10 wait list spots-- can someone confirm this?

the chem department thing hasn’t been verified – call them yourself on tuesday. and you can buy textbooks for whatever classes you want, even if you’re not enrolled for it.

I was wondering is there a shuttle going from the SD airport to UCSD? Does it cost anything?

google “ucsd airport shuttle”

For ERC, I know there is a kitchen on the base floor of all the ERC residence halls, but what do these kitchens comes with? Do they have a refrigerator/microwave/coffee pot/etc? My roomates and I are trying to figure out what to bring. Thanks.

^all they have is an oven, stovetop, and sink. No utensils, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot, no toaster, no panini press, etc

How difficult is it to get a job at one of the dining halls if you don’t have work study?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/727928-work-study.html?highlight=dining+hall+work+study

seems like it’s not too hard, but it’s not one of the top choices.

i’ve never worked out before but i’d like to try it now that i’m paying gym fees. i’m apprehensive about the rimac atmosphere though. what’s the rimac crowd like? is it mostly serious athletes, size-0 wannabe girls, or an overbalance of males? as a girl i’m not comfortable with too many guys.

is rimac a comfortable place for an amateur like me to just do some rowing, elliptical, biking? at what hours is it empty-ish, if ever? thanks.

I’m taking Math 20B this fall, and I was looking at the books needed to take the class.

Can anyone explain to me what’s included in the bundles and what the abbreviations mean? I want to make sure I understand what I’m supposed to get, what’s optional, and what’s in the bundles…It’s a little vague to me.

http://img835.imageshack.us/i/booksv.png/

Also, for Econ1, it says (UCSD custom) on the book list at the end of the book’s name. Does this mean I have
no other option but to pay for the customized edition of that book from the bookstore?

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/8996/books2.png

yup, custom books are sold by UCSD only. if it was used in a previous quarter you might be able to find a used copy.
