Any Questions?

Trombonist, I applied ED 1 last year, and when I was accepted I happily withdrew all of my applications. All the private schools and UCs got my withdrawel, I think. Even though I withdrew, I was accepted into UOP, and CAL and UCLA and a couple other UCs. I only sent one withdrawel in letter format. A friend of mine sent two withdrawels to each school to make sure and she didn't get any admissions. I don't know what happened with mine, but I understand where you're coming from.

It's perfectly normal to wonder "what if," but much nicer to experience the relief of knowing where you'll be going to college early in the game. We went through a little bit of that in our household, but getting a Pomona sweatshirt for Christmas made it all worthwhile for D. Also, if you're accepted, you don't have to run the risk of receiving any rejection letters!

How would generally describe the student body of Pomona? Nerdy, Geeky, Jock, normal, preppy, etc? I know there will be a littler of each but what would you mostly see?

According to a relative who attended, because Pomona goes to great lengths to have a diverse student population, you'll be likely to see a little of everything much as you would in the general population. I would hazard a guess that, politically speaking, the students might lean more toward liberalism than conservativeness but then the school's in California.

Pomana's student body: bright but unassuming, friendly, involved, social with a little speck of nerdy mixed in, intellectual, talented but humble

inseniarator - in terms of the categories you mentioned, I would say Pomona has all of the above groups in pretty sizeable numbers. I don't think only one of them could really describe the student body even when speaking generally. But before you think Pomona is just going to be a repetition of high school, everyone has a lot of respect for each other and I don't think students put labels on each other the same way people do in high school. Different types of students interact with each other, which I personally think is partially due to the sponsor group program for first-years.

If you want to know what the typical Pomona student is like, I would describe him or her as liberal, friendly, intelligent (although not in an elitist way), considerate, and laid-back. I read in some college guide that a student described us as "cool dorks," which I can kind of see as being pretty accurate.
