I got into Rutgers like a month ago and I’m grateful and excited that I got in, however, the one thing that scares me is the cost. I live in NJ but I’m probably going to dorm there due to it being far away from my house. I was just wonder if anyone received tuition letters or any letters regarding financial aid yet?
You should contact them and ask
My twins accepted, no financial aid/merit info yet.
Thanks kris and congrats 3sonsmom
From GoRutgers, financial aid information will be released by the end of the week.
They will be out by this Friday.
Notified 2/7/18 of acceptance in honors college - letter stated merit scholarship and financial aid notification will be sent “within the next week.” I do not understand why they don’t send scholarship awards with admissions. My daughter was accepted at other schools and all of them sent merit scholarship notifications with the admissions letter.
@lovinglife7 That is correct. Here is the full text from the Rutgers Honors Notification Email:
“P.S. Merit scholarship and financial aid information will be sent directly by the Office of Financial Aid within the next week. (Honors invitations are made independently of merit scholarship and financial aid decisions; an honors invitation does not guarantee an award.)”
No word here on financial aid either and my child was accepted on December 19. Also, I know for a fact that Mason Gross has NOT looked at her portfolio yet so even if we hear about an academic merit award, that could change if she gets a portfolio scholarship. She’s applying for visual arts. Has already been accepted to the SAS NB and Environmental and Biological Sciences NB.
Well nothing today yet - no email or anything in the mail. Looks like financial awards are not happening this week.
From Jennifer Hollis on Go Rutgers:
“from what I heard this morning most likely this afternoon or early evening for FAFSA filers who filed by December 1 and tomorrow for non-FAFSA filers who are being offered a scholarship. FAFSA filers who filed after December 1 would be on a rolling basis”
@MrElonMusk - thanks for this, then I’ll keep checking! let you know if anything comes through
@stepl100 - No problem. I also just got confirmation from Jennifer Hollis that notifications are still on for tonight.
I GOT MINE AND IT WAS TRASH
Anyone else getting errors logging in? I filed Fafsa and used my SSN with the login with RUID option along with the ruid and my birthday and its saying something is wrong. Should I just wait a while or what? I tried setting up the NetID but its giving me errors for that too so idk
I keep getting that error as well.
keep in mind that the birthday should include dashes and should be formatted like this mm/dd/yy (only use 2 digits for the year and don’t forget the dashes in between).
I was able to log in and see my daughter’s financial aide award. All $0.00 of it. Sigh. There is always the possibility that Mason Gross will give her a portfolio scholarship if she gets in there. We are in state.
@JerseyMom2022 - Same here for my D - no $ at all. In state as well but will have to pay full cost if we choose Rutgers. Still competitive value but we’ll see what RD round of applications brings in the way of merit awards for OOS options.
@stepl100 yeah we are still waiting for 3 other schools plus Mason Gross.
