It really looks like you don't know what you want in a college. It's best if you give us a list of criteria that you want in a school, and then ask for recommendations (so, do you want a small school, large school, liberal arts, research university, etc.).

It's hard to just say right away what type of school you're looking for. That's why you need to do a self-assessment, and after you've done a good job of your self-assessment, you will know the answers to the so very important question: What do I want out of college?

Let your tastes be your guide.

When you've discovered what you want, post your criteria and then ask for suggestions.

Here are some questions to get you started:

-How much do you challenge yourself?
-How much challenge do you want in college? Do you want to work extremely hard, party hard, or get a mix of both?

Be careful with your self-assessment. You could very well change your mind later--I certainly did. Before I wanted a huge university, and now I'm confident that I want a small liberal arts college.

I want a small liberal arts college that's has a strong math and science area in a place that snows a lot and where there's a great sense of community. I want a laid-back atmosphere preferably near a big city where I can unwind. I'm looking for a lot of opportunities and things to do. I want to work hard around intellectual, hard-working types. I want to avoid schools with a big Greek scene. In college I want to get a broad, liberal-arts education where I can learn a ton from academics and from experiences (e.g. study abroad, internships). I want a school where I can be involved, and where everyone is involved.

From that list I pinpointed (after a LOT of research and after narrowing down a big list on my own) several good schools that fit my needs: the University of Chicago, Swarthmore, Reed, Carleton, Tufts, and Macalester among them. After researching more (I'm still in the researching stage, which is where I should be), I will decide what schools to apply to. I will be happy at any of the schools that I apply to because they suit my needs.

From your post, we can't tell what your needs are, so we can't help you find any good matches. That's why bunny27 asked you a question, so that people can get a better sense of what you want.

But YOU have to know what you want first, and that starts of with a probing self-assessment that leads to a description of what you want.

That's when we can really help.
