Any recommendations for my daughter?

My daughter may be looking for the impossible: A medium sized school with a large Asian-American population and excellent departments in art and East Asian languages (including Korean!). Any suggestions?

Korean is offered very few places, so if she starts by searching for that language, she will be able to develop a list pretty quickly. The College Board search engine only finds 7 universities in the US and Canada that offer a major in Korean or Korean studies: [College MatchMaker: Results](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)

Emory University has a huge Asian population as of this past admissions cycle…not sure about the majors though

Stanford offers a great range of Korean language and culture classes.

Here is a link to the Binghamton Korean Studies minor. They offer many Far Eastern courses. I believe they have a large Asian population. I imagine your best bets are in NY and CA. Best of luck.

It looks like Columbia has an active Korean Students Association.
University of Hawaii at Manoa has a Center for Korean Studies and offers three classes in Korean art history, among other topics.
