<p>So, as the college admissions process is coming to an end and we owe colleges enrollment forms in less than two weeks (yikes!), do you have any regrets? </p>
<p>do you wish you applied to other schools? more? less? do you wish you visited more places? researched more? </p>
<p>Let's use this thread to offer advice to future seniors so they don't have some of the same regrets we do. :] </p>
<p>Personally, I am very proud of the schools I chose to apply to (wesleyan, grinnell, kenyon, lake forest, loyola chicago, and UW-Madison), since I would love to go to any of them. I think I really researched colleges pretty well, as I believe my personality is a good fit for all the schools I applied to. </p>
<p>Though, I still have a few regrets....</p>
<p>-I wish I applied to more schools outside of the Midwest, especially to more schools on the east coast.
-I wish I applied to a few schools more competitive than the ones I applied to. Not that I think I would have had a good chance, but I'm just wondering if some of the more selective LACs would have admitted me.</p>
<p>I should have written my applications earlier. I might have gotten into my ED choice if I had spent more time on my essays/common app.</p>
<p>I should have applied to more schools that <em>I</em> wanted to go to.</p>
<p>I shouldn’t have wasted most of my applications on Ivies. Maybe I should have applied to places like UChicago. Foreign schools (Cambridge, etc).</p>
<p>I feel like some things were out of my control. I was planning to be recruited at Div. 1 schools, but during junior year I got injured twice. My knee injury came back and I badly pulled my groin, which didn’t heal until after the season. So my college list was probably a good fit until I ruined my athletic career. Also, my grades were great for someone who is planning on getting recruited, but not as great for someone who is not.</p>
<p>I wish I would have applied to more reach schools, just to see what would’ve happened. </p>
<p>All in all I applied to seven schools and was rejected from only one (Columbia), but I was accepted to NYU, USC, Bard, American, Fordham, and Howard. I think I should have applied to another reach or two. Ohhh well NYU 13’ :D</p>
