All I've heard were acceptance letters today. Have there been any rejection letters?

It seems as if Binghamton decided to mail acceptance letters before the holidays, and perhaps rejection letters after the holidays, as a method of mitigating any pain people might feel had they been rejected before vacation.

I only heard of acceptances too. admissions officer on facebook states all ea decisions will be mailed by 1/15th. So why are so many kids finding out now not all??? Why not send out all at once? Can all those waiting all be rejections???

I applied to Binghamton early action and I still haven’t gotten any word from them I live in Upstate New York and 3 people from my school got their acceptance letters around the 24th…I thought nothing of this because I thought they’d applied early decision and that’s why they got their acceptances earlier, but then I realized that Binghamton doesn’t have an early decision option. I thought they were suppose to mail decisions out around January 15th! Why are they playing with our minds like this?!

When I applied EA in the Fall of '08, they mailed ALL decisions together (I got my acceptance ON the 15th). It seems cruel to mail acceptances before rejections, or even make it appear that way. Good luck to all of you guys!

@Hong214 Actually, they weren’t the same statements. The latter one included why I thought they did this (“in order to not ruin people’s vacations.”) Nice try, though, kid.

^ copy and pasted from my original thread. I’m guessing you don’t know what mitigating means?
