Any results from the Priority Select Admissions?

My son is expecting to hear soon, but he has not gotten anything official.

i found out i was accepted a couple of days after thanksgiving :)

Way to go fuerte! How long after completing the app did you hear?

well i submitted my online app october 13th (friday the 13th haha) so i'm guessing my school stuff must have gotten there a week or so later (i live in jersey). it was about a month, or the "four weeks" the priority select application promises.

best of luck!!

I heard around the end of November-beginning of December, and I applied in late October.

I do have one friend who applied who still hasn't heard, and she applied in mid-November. I think it's kind of a tossup.

I applied in mid September and found out about mid October, about a month later. Good news, with a personal note about my writing sample :).

Any idea when we learn about financial aid?

S just got his admissions letter today, application was completed at the end of November. Also included a nice comment about his essay.

I got in whoohoo!

I'm also wondering if any of you have heard yet regarding financial aid. I see that at many schools it comes within a few weeks of acceptance. D was accepted with the priority application in November.

I was accepted early on too, and I was hoping for news of scholarship money.

I heard rumors that it would be out around February (wow! this month), and I hope they're correct.

Ursinus doesn't like me. Though I did get a letter saying that I'm considered for a Ursinus Merit Scholarship, I never recieved any confimation for an acceptance.

-The Unliked Coot66

coot66 - my D received an email about being considered for a merit scholarship several days ago, please come to campus on the 24th for an interview (we live 1500 miles away, ouch), but had not heard anything about actually being admitted. It didn't make sense. Then she got her letter yesterday saying she was admitted.

I think you will soon be liked by Ursinus.

I got my acceptance letter a few days ago (Thursday). Guess the scholarship letter is sent out first. I'm not sure if I'll go on the interview; though it's not a 1500 mile drive, it will take a few hours. And I'm not really sure if Ursinus is a good college. Can anyone post positive things about it?

-The Accepted Coot66

PS And is the pronounciation Your-Sinus or Yoor-senus

"And I'm not really sure if Ursinus is a good college. Can anyone post positive things about it?"

You applied but you don't know anything about it?

There's a difference between 'not knowing anything about it' and asking for some positive info -- especially for someone who applied but lives 1500 miles away.

Quite a few of us turn to these boards for additional info garnered by others and to get a further perspective.

My older daughter is attending Hartwick in NY with a girl from North Dakota. This student from North Dakota never set foot in NY state before, let alone see Hartwick. She was accepted into the honors program with an offer of merit aid, and, to a degree, she relied on the insights and opinions of others.

Unfortunately 'Coot66', we have not yet visited Ursinus and I can't offer info, but I am certain there are others here who could give you some insight.

Congrats and good luck.

"the pronounciation Your-Sinus or Yoor-senus"

We know two grads and we visited the campus last summer. We have not heard the school name pronounced that way. Er-sinus was what we have heard, though there may be other acceptable pronunciations.

What impressed us was the personal attention given to each to student. It is not just ad copy for the brochures Administration and faculty seem to be interested in the individual and the few students we met corroborated that.

I visited Ursinus about a month ago. I also posted a visit review on the main CC page that you might want to go take a look at.

Overall, I liked it. I arrived an hour early for my interview and even though the admissions office was packed, I started my interview literally five minutes after getting there. It was VERY informal- maybe it was just the interviewer I got, but I didn't feel any pressure and he didn't ask the typical interview questions.

Campus seemed nice. Lots of modern art all over outside, especially statues. New performing arts center which is beautiful and cost a fortune. Swimming pool- also nice, offers free swim times. Didn't really get to see the dorms, because we were rushed in and out pretty quickly.

I can't really comment on the academic program, because much of what they told me I've forgotten. The only thing I remember is that all freshman have to attend CIE (Common Intellectual Experience) which involves discussions and reading classic books.

I've applied RD. Congrats on getting in. ^_^

D and I visited last week days after a major eastcoast snow & ice storm. Campus was very beautiful on a sunny day. Sculpture is absolutely amazing as are most of the public spaces. Many new buildings including a performing arts space and a new dorm that is about to some on-line. My D had not expected to like the place (did not like the name!) but ended up buying a sweatshirt...always a very good sign. I was very impressed by Ursinus.

I applied in December, got accepted 2 weeks ago and a $12,000/year merit scholarship offer in the mail about a week ago, which I didn't even know i was being considered for! i will not be attending, though.

Ugh, you're lucky. Ursinus was pretty much my dream school, btu I suprisingly seemed to not get any scholarships :(
sigh Oh well, that's $36 down the drain for rushed SAT scores
